Head Case, the Mindflayer, is one of the trickiest mini-boss to beat in Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth. Its attack patterns and abilities are not the only things that will annoy you throughout the battle but the two Experimental Varghidpolises by its side will keep you on the edge of your chair all the time.
You don’t just need good skills in your battle with the Head Case, but you also need to be thoroughly prepared for it to ensure your skills and luck do not go to waste because of your poor prep. It is recommended to have:
- Cloud, Tifa, and Aerith in your party.
- Cloud with First Strike, Maginfy, and Binding Materia.
- Time and Haste equipped to Tifa.
- Aerith equipped with a Healing Materia.
1. How to beat Biological Intel: Head Case in Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth?
To beat Head Case in Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth:
- Stun all the enemies initially to get the upper hand.
- Focus only on attacking the Mindflayer.
- Dodge all the enemy AoE attacks efficiently.
- Keep the Experimental Varghidpolises out of the battle using Sleep by Cloud.
- Build and use Synergy Abilities for Cloud and Tifa to pressure Mindflayer.
- Attack the Mindflayer with Cloud’s Focused Thurst to stagger it.
- Finish it off by spamming attacks.
- Keep all the three party members alive.
- Defeat the Experimental Varghidpolises to finish the boss fight.
2. Stun All the Enemies Initially
Start the fight by casting Sleep on all the enemies using Cloud to give yourself the upper hand. The First Strike Materia will fill up your ATB charge, so casting Sleep at the start will not be an issue.
3. Focusing on Attacking the Mindflayer
The primary objective for this fight is to build up the synergy bar for both Cloud and Tifa so you can use Synergy abilities to take down the Mindflayer.
You do not need to be distracted by the Experimental Varghidpolises throughout this battle. Focus all your attacks on the Mindflayer, and make sure to dodge the thunderbolt AoE attacks from time to time whenever the enemy casts them.
4. Finishing the Battle with Mindflayer
The battle with Mindflayer should only involve spamming regular attacks and using Sleep, Synergy Abilities, and Focused Thurst. Focused Thurst staggers the Mindflayer giving you additional time to sneak in more quick attacks to chip away the health of the beast.
If you do not take up much damage and keep on spamming these attacks then soon Mindflayer will bite the dust leaving the two Experimental Varghidpolises in the boss fight.
5. Defeating the Experimental Varghidpolises
Once the Mindflayer is defeated, the Experimental Varghidpolises will cast Deafening Screech, an AoE stun, and a self-immolation attack. However, all of this should not be difficult for you to handle if you have all three party members alive.
Take down the remaining enemies easily to complete the boss fight and collect your rewards.
