The Last of Us Part 3 might feature Ellie as the Protagonist

The hit HBO adaptation of The Last of Us only gave rise to more extraordinary success of the beloved franchise. There was a massive spike in game sales after the TV show was launched last year. This has given rise to fan theories claiming there is another installment in the making.

Twitter user @ViewerAnon has claimed that the co-president of Naughty Dog, Neil Druckmann’s next project will be The Last of Us Part 3. The user also mentioned that “major filming” for the game is scheduled for this year.

ViewerAnon emphasized on the importance of Ellie’s character in the next installment. Fans can expect her to be the protagonist, leaving room for a second main character, most likely Abby from The Last of Us 2.

Since The Last of Us 3 is still in the early stages of development, there will be changes to the storyline or in other words, “everything is potentially up in the air to be changed.”

Another leaker, Daniel Richtman, has also revealed some details about The Last of Us 3. Richtman reported that the upcoming game will feature a “Victorian house” which will serve as an accommodation for some of the survivors. This report also mentioned newcomers Lucas, Mason, Ezra, Val, and Gracis. Val is the leader of the group while Ezra wants to take over the role.

It should be noted that these leaks have not been confirmed officially by Naughty Dog or any other legitimate source. Thus, it would be wise to take these rumors with a grain of salt. If The Last of Us 3 is indeed in development, there will be an official announcement and reveal sooner or later.

Sadly, it will be a few years before we actually get to see The Last of Us 3, that is if the rumors are even true. Naughty Dog is reportedly working on a single-player game, but game details are yet to be revealed. Hopefully, we will receive some solid information as its development progresses.
