The Last Days of Ptolemy Grey Episode 5 Speculation

As the series progresses, we get a deeper insight into Ptolemy and Robyn’s heartwarming dynamic. Robyn expresses that she has no intention of becoming his heir in terms of property and that she wants to establish herself through her own efforts.

Ptolemy has a special place in his heart for Robyn, who has been a great source of comfort to him during his experimental drug trial and also through the grief of losing his beloved nephew.

It will be interesting to see how Niecie will react to the growing bond between Robyn and Ptolemy, she clearly has a grudge against Robyn as was proven by the false elder abuse complaint she made.

Ptolemy retrieves Coydog’s treasure from the floorboards. There were two gold coins left out of the fourteen. Ptolemy explains to Robyn the history behind the coins and how he had witnessed his uncle being lynched.

He used up a considerable number of the coins to finance his late wife’s cancer treatments and he wanted to use what was left to benefit the local black community, just like his uncle had intended.

Once Ptolemy is in a lucid state of mind, he visits Dr. Rubin with Robyn and finishes signing the final paperwork giving consent for the treatment. Robyn also accompanies Ptolemy to an antique shop to get the coins valued and they also open a bank account.

Later that day, a city representative and two police officials visit Ptolemy claiming they received a complaint from Niecie accusing Robyn of swindling and taking advantage of Ptolemy.

Furious at this, he confronts his family members about the false complaint and tells them Robyn is a trusted ally to him.

Ptolemy’s resolve to find his beloved nephew’s killer is stronger than ever. He speaks to the people that knew Reggie but doesn’t find any clear clues.

However, upon remembering an older conversation, he speaks to Roger about Nina’s ex. Reggie had expressed his intentions to move away from Atlanta to avoid this very ex-boyfriend, who had lost Nina on account of his incarceration.
