Episode 3 Recap
Ray defeats the monster once more despite its might, impressing everyone but Albert, who becomes progressively furious. Ray visits Lydia, his master, who is paralyzed. They talk about her study of the brain’s Engrams, which enable magic. She also warns him about Eugenics, a group of extremists who kill sorcerers to steal their magic to gain control.
Although Lydia is happy that Ray made friends, she is upset that he won’t participate in the Sword-Sorceror tournament against other academies. Ray accompanies Elisa to the public library, where they talk about Ainsworth, an early Engram researcher, and Elisa’s hero.
Ray admits that he likes reading Luna Etel’s romance books. When Claris sees them, she’s invited to join them and meets Elisa. They spend time together and get closer to each other.
Ray runs into Amelia after the girls have left, and she offers to take him clothes shopping. Amelia accidentally shows Ray her underwear after being startled by a spider, but she realizes she doesn’t care whether he saw her.
Miss Gray, a former pupil of Ray’s during his time as the Iceblade Sorcerer, introduces herself to Ray as the academy’s instructor and vows to help Ray rediscover his lost skills. The spy from the forest keeps an eye on Albert and smiles as he begins rigorous training to defeat Ray.
