According to the official website, the second season sees Cid and Shadow Garden being pursued by the three rulers of the Lawless City: Juggernaut the Tyrant, Yukime the Spirit Fox, and Crimson the vampire. Meanwhile, they must also face the impending awakening of Blood Queen, a progenitor vampire.

The Eminence in Shadow, a manga by Daisuke Aizawa, started serialization in 2018. It is scheduled to receive an anime in October 2022. An anime film, titled ‘The Eminence in Shadow: Lost Echoes,’ was announced in December 2023.
Cid, the protagonist, is obsessed with becoming a hidden mastermind. Being reincarnated in an isekai world gives him the chance to act on his wishes and build up his power beyond the notice of people.
