The Dragon Prince season 5 reveals new images and announces its summer premiere.
The acclaimed Netflix animated fantasy series follows the adventures of royal half-brothers King Ezran and Prince Callum as they seek to restore harmony between the human world and the magical land of Xadia.
Along with their allies, the Moonshadow Elf Rayla and Dragon Prince Zym, they must stop the revived mage Viren from freeing the enigmatic ancient Startouch Elf Aaravos.
The Dragon Prince unveiled 12 new images from season 5, hinting at a dangerous quest for both the protagonists and antagonists of the series.
It also announced that The Dragon Prince season 5 will debut on Netflix in July. See the images of the forthcoming season below:
The Dragon Prince’s new season 5 images indicate a challenging and tense journey ahead. Season 4 ended with Viren, his powerful mage daughter Claudia, and her Earthblood Elf partner Terry finding the map to Aaravos’ prison.
With Rayla discovering her parents were not killed but imprisoned in magical coins, the images suggest the elf’s strong resolve. She seems to guide the group on the next part of their quest, meeting Ezran and Callum’s aunt, General Amaya.
Viren’s quest to Aaravos seems no less difficult. With only 30 days to reach the Startouch Elf to complete his revival, the journey seems to wear out Viren; one image shows Claudia and Terry carrying the man through rainy terrain.
His mental state may be affected as well, with another image depicting Viren falling in a dark abyss, possibly within the depths of his troubled mind. Although Terry doubted Claudia’s actions toward Rayla at the end of The Dragon Prince season 4, the couple seem to be doing well as they rest by the fire in each other’s embrace.
Titled Book 5: Ocean, The Dragon Prince previously hinted at a difficult journey across the water with the aid of Nyx, a dishonest elf who last showed up in season 3.
A recent Dragon Prince poster depicted the heroes’ ship facing a huge wave with a partly hidden dragon lurking below. With The Dragon Prince season 5 debuting in two months, viewers do not have to wait much longer to see if Rayla can rescue her parents while preventing Viren from reaching Aaravos.
