Detective Conan: The Culprit Hanzawa to Stream From Feb 1 on Netflix

On December 20, the official Twitter account for the Detective Conan: The Culprit Hanzawa anime announced that the anime would premiere worldwide (outside of Japan) on February 1 on Netflix.

In Japan, the anime was already released on October 3 on the channels Tokyo MX, Yomiuri TV, and BS NTV.

The anime stars Shota Aoi as the titular protagonist Hanzawa-san, with Inori Minase as Hanzawa’s pet Pometaro. Megumi Hayashibara and Rikiya Koyama reprise their roles as Ai Haibara and Kogorō Mōri, respectively.

Other returning cast members include Naoko Matsui as Sonoko Suzuki, Kenichi Ogataas Professor Agasa, Wataru Takagi as Genta Kojima, Ikue Ōtanias Mitsuhiko Tsuburaya, Yukiko Iwaias Ayumi Yoshida, Chafurin as Jūzō Megure, Kenyuu Horiuchi as Harufumi Mogi, Emi Shinohara as Ikumi Soda, and Minoru Inaba as Shukujiro Ogami.

Detective Conan: The Culprit Hanzawa, a gag manga written by Gosho Aoyama and illustrated by Mayuko Kanba, is an official spin-off of the original Detective Conan manga. The plot is set in Beika-cho in Tokyo, the fictional town where the Detective Conan series takes place.

The manga follows the daily life of the Shadow Man, who is a silhouette of an unidentified criminal from Closed Case.

The manga was serialized Shogakukan’s Shonen Sunday S monthly magazine since May 2017. The manga has completed seven collected volume books so far. Shogakukan published the manga’s seventh compiled volume book on September 15.

Detective Conan: The Culprit Hanazawa is a spinoff manga for the Detective Conan franchise. It was released in 2017 and is scheduled for a fall 2022 anime.

The series focuses on the concept of the ‘black silhouetted criminals that appear in the franchise. The protagonist in this spinoff is literally a black silhouette who movies to Beika.

No one knows what crime he will commit but the series is filled with gag scenes where Hanazawa is seen coping with this new sinister city.
