ABC is coming out with a special spin-off to The Bachelor, featuring the seniors. The project could be materializing sooner than we thought and we can’t wait to witness what a spectacle THAT would be.
“There is an interesting thing about people who have hit the other end of the spectrum, who’ve lived their lives, they’ve raised their kids, some have been widowed or divorced and maybe some have never been in love.
We thought that would be an interesting dynamic through the Bachelor prism,” said Rob Mills from ABC about the new series.
When’s it out?
The Bachelor spin-off could come out pretty soon considering that right before COVID-19 shutdown production in Hollywood, ABC had put out a casting call for seniors looking for love.
Except, nothing was revealed after that because productions came to a halt.
However, Variety has recently reported that the series is still on the table, and ABC has received videos a-plenty, from prospective seniors looking for love.
The series was supposed to air in Fall 2020 had the pandemic not cast its shade all over the world.
Mills continued further, “Some of the casting interviews we got … were just so touching.
It’s such a different way of doing The Bachelor because these people are just at a totally different place in their lives.”
What’s The Bachelor
This reality show invites a single bachelor looking to settle in life and find love. He is given the opportunity to interact with and date a group of women who’ve all been brought under one roof.
Over time, contestants are eliminated from the competition and towards the end, the bachelor picks one person to continue seeing or to propose marriage.
Next up for The Bachelor franchise is Clare Crawley’s season of The Bachelorette, which is currently in production and set to air later this year.
