As the teachers try to neutralize Philomela, a werewolf breaks into the hall and takes Her and Alcyone away from the college. Chise and the group try to go after her, but the principal forbids them to do so as it might already be too late for Philomela.
With Ainsworth’s assurance, the group decides to go for her anyway. But Chise suddenly starts to give off a strange red aura that envelops her. A few moments later, we learn that she somehow turned into a dragon and is now following the scent of Philomela’s soul through the underground veins.

2. Episode 8 Speculation
We’ll hopefully see a confrontation between Chise and Philomela as the former tries to save the latter. Will Chise succeed in saving Philomela’s humanity and bring her back safely to the college? Before that, though, who is this mysterious Crow woman, and what does she want with Chise? And when everything is said and done, we need answers to how Chise turned into a red dragon, too.
Episode 7 gave birth to so many questions for the viewers and so few answers to anything. We can only hope to receive our answers in the next episode as all of these are just assumptions.
3. Recap of Episode 7
The episode kicks off with the sight of a corrupted Philomela launching an attack on the students and teachers in the hall. She continuously asks the principal to open the college. As expected, the principal refuses to do so but is later forced into doing it when she releases some kind of decaying spell on the unconscious students.
Right around this time, Ainsworth, Chise, and her friends arrive there. Before they could do anything, one of the teachers attacks Philomela, who was slowly losing her humanity. Chise attempts to help her, but Ainsworth stops her, saying this is the only thing they can do to save everyone.
The teacher’s surprise attack turns ineffective as Alcyone, Philomela’s companion, takes the hit instead of her. In that short window, a werewolf breaks into the hall and disappears with Philomela and Alcyone. They are revealed to have gone to Philomela’s grandmother.
Chise shows her earnest wishes to go after Philomela and save her, but the principal doesn’t want to let them leave since all of their efforts might be in naught if Philomela has already lost her humanity. But Ainsworth steps in and asks if Chise made any contract with Philomela as mages.
Upon hearing this, Chise recounts her promise to Philomela to make potpourri together someday. Ainsworth says a mage must uphold her contract, so he’ll help Chise go after Philomela. Once they make their final decision, Chise’s friends join them, with one more teacher.
To everyone’s surprise, Chise suddenly starts to emit a bright red aura before anyone understands what’s going on, Ainsworth covers the others, and they all disappear. It’s soon revealed that Chise somehow turned into a dragon and traveled through the underground veins with everyone.
Once they reach the place where Philomela is currently at, Ainsworth tells the others that Ainsworth brought them inside to prevent any harm, and they must not go outside right now, or they’ll be in danger. On the outside, we see Chise standing in front of a mansion, and the crows above her head suddenly form into a human.
