Superman & Lois will be back faster than you can say kryptonite! Season 2 will premiere on January 11, 2022.
The announcement comes via the show’s official Twitter, heralding its return only four months after Season 1’s ending. I’m super excited to have it back, and I’m sure fans appreciate the relatively short hiatus in-between seasons.
This quick turnaround is a big testament to how successful the show is, which had its very first episode air in February this year. In fact, this may also mean that we may get a trailer and teaser pictures in the next few weeks.
The first season followed Clark and Lois’ decision to return to their hometown, Smallville, with their sons Jonathan and Jordan.
It was fascinating to explore more of Superman’s domestic life, even as the family grappled with their more supernatural side, especially coming to realize Jordan’s superpowers.
Another important set-up in Season 1 was Clark’s estranged half-brother Morgan Edge/Tal-Rho, who was attempting to restore the Kryptonian race. His motives and actions drove home the antagonism throughout the episodes.
In recent news, Teen Wolf’s Ian Bohen was added to the cast as Lt Mitch Anderson at the Department of Defense. After Sam Lane stepping down from his position at the end of Season 1, Anderson is expected to have a stronger hold on DOD’s activities, harboring a no-nonsense attitude for Superman.
Besides this, Season 2 will have another new character in the form of Natalie Irons, who was briefly introduced in the Season 1 finale.
Lois will have her hands full — not only does Natalie mistake Lois for her lost mother, but the Smallville Gazette will need tending to, now that Lois partially owns it.
I’m sure the upcoming season will be ripe with more plot twists and turns… After all, the events in Smallville are anything but small!
