On December 23, the official website for the television anime adaptation of Kazuha Kishimoto’s Summoned to Another World for a Second Time light novel series revealed a promotional video for the anime, along with more cast, staff, and the spring 2023 premiere.
The anime stars Shunichi Toki as the protagonist Setsu. The new cast members include Kaori Maeda as Elka, Satomi Amano as Yūhi, Fairouz Ai as Livaia, and Saori Ōnishi as Dezastol.
The anime is directed by Motoki Nakanishi at Studio Elle, with Yukihito as the series Script supervisor. Mikako Kunii is the character designer. The newly announced staff members include Hiroshi Gouroku as art director, Testsuya Nishimura as director of photography, and Ayako Tan as the editor.
S.S.NiRVERGE∀ is performing the show’s opening theme song “Continue Distortion.”
The novel’s plot revolves around a man who was summoned to another world to be a warrior. He manages to save the world and soon becomes known as a hero.
Eventually, he leads a relatively ordinary life in this new world until, one day, he gets trapped and deported back to his original world as a baby. He then grows up in this world, and when he reaches high school, he is summoned to the other world….again!
The novels series was launched on the Shōsetsuka ni Narō website in 2015, and the series ended in 2016. The print version of the novels was published by Futabasha with illustrations by Shimahara in October 2015.
The novels also received a manga adaptation in July 2018, which featured artwork by Arashiyama.

The story features a typical isekai protagonist summoned to another world where he becomes a famous hero. The real story starts when a mishap lands the hero back in his original world where he was nothing but a lame high-schooler, and on top of that, he has to begin his life again as a baby.
