Setsu finally lands in the Beastmen Kingdom, where he meets some familiar faces in episode 8 of Summoned to Another World for a Second Time, titled “Fighting a Duel For a Second Time.”

Meeting up with his apprentice from five years past, Roa is finally reunited with Setsu and immediately pounces on him affectionately. The King of the Beastmen himself is also not so different, as Regulus is hugely relieved that the hero of the lands has finally returned.

However, jealousy is still brewing within the Kingdom, and Regulus tries to settle all conflict with an official duel. The duel quickly goes beyond their control, as Toma themselves appear in an illusionary form sending their message to all the heroes.

1. Episode 9 Speculation

With Toma officially announcing the start of the invasion and thus the war and directly challenging Setsu, the true mastermind behind everything is made extremely obvious. Setsu will leave for the Demonic Kingdom next and reunite with everybody there.

He will likely have to supervise the army and the plans to defend and stop the invasion, while Setsu himself must go to the root cause and find Toma himself to bring peace to the lands once more, just like he did five years ago.

3. Recap of Episode 8

Setsu recalls back to the past when he trained the Beastmen king’s daughter, Roa, who has a big ego and refuses to accept him as her master even if her dad had taken him. In the Royal Capital, the higher-ups are highly divided on their decision.

The current dilemma is to attack before the enemy or to wait for the invasion and defend, and they are all evenly split. Setsu finally reaches the Kingdom and isn’t allowed in by the guards. However, Roa drops in from the sky, giving Setsu a hug recognizing him by his aura.

Even King Regulus jumps onto him immediately on sight and exchanges his pleasantries with Setsu. However, he needs more time to party or celebrate and immediately gets to business. They ask them to spare some manpower to help with the invasion, and Regulus is ready to agree but Rouga steps in with his opinion.

Rouga says that they can no longer trust Setsu since he has been missing for five years, and Regulus decides to settle the conflict with a duel which would also decide Roa’s husband. The night comes, and Roa meets with Rouga warning him that he stands no chance.

However, he has faith that the magic rune he bought will be enough to overpower the hero. With the duel coming to a start, Rouga launches the first attack with a barrage of slashes that Setsu quickly returns. He resorts to transforming into his beast form.

However, Setsu quickly knocks him back into the ground and taunts him as he gets back up. Filled with pride and jealousy, the magic rune imbues him with even more strength, making him explode with anger and multiply in size as he launches a massive blast at Setsu.

Setsu slices off an arm, but it regenerates immediately, and they realize that what they’re witnessing is Toma’s curse. Almost forced to use his magic power on Rouga, Toma herself appears in place of the beast’s head since someone so measly would not be worth Setsu’s magical power.

He taunts Setsu further through his hologram and announces Distinia’s invasion leaving them all in evil spirits. The Beastmen assist Setsu with a portion of their army as he leaves for the Demonic Kingdom before the attack.
