Strahan, Sara and Keke: Daytime Series Canceled Permanently

Strahan, Sara and Keke could be gone for good this COVID season. According to reports, the series was put on a break back in March during the coronavirus-led production shutdown.

The series slot was replaced with a daily report about the pandemic, titled Pandemic: What You Need to Know.

The show hosted by Michael Strahan, Sara Haines and Keke Palmer is now being replaced with “GMA 3: What You Need to Know.”

When it first went off-air in March, it was replaced by “Pandemic: What You Need to Know,” a daily coronavirus report anchored by Amy Robach, Dr. Jen Ashton and occasionally TJ Holmes.

“It was initially supposed to be a two-week experiment and the show did really well,” a source said. “Pandemic” then morphed into “GMA 3” to include other topics in the news cycle and voila, just like that the slot was lost to the talk show, maybe forever.

However, we don’t have any official confirmation of the cancellation from ABC yet.

According to Page Six, ABC did go on to say officially that, “We’re proud of our teams at ‘SSK’ and ‘GMA3’ and how quickly they transitioned to producing a daily show to give people the news and information they need during an unprecedented pandemic.”

While the conversations on the talk show continued, those about how the show will evolve in the months ahead have also been underway, they noted.

The three are all still employed by ABC, and Strahan will continue to be seen on Good Morning America. However, the show itself seems to be getting cold storage with that statement made by the ABC guys.

Another insider concluded: “It’s unfortunate, but the hope is that they’ll be a big part of [‘GMA 3’] down the road,” and added, “Everyone was feeling good about their show. It was nominated for three Daytime Emmys. It finally found its rhythm. Ratings were stabilized and were starting to tick up when they went off-air.”
