Ubisoft revealed their upcoming game, Star Wars Outlaws, developed by Massive Entertainment and under license by Lucasfilm Games, at the Xbox Games Showcase in 2023 with a cinematic but short trailer. The game, which is still in development but is expected to release in 2024, was promised more public content soon, and it’s here.
Ubisoft released an official gameplay walkthrough of their game on their YouTube channel. Kay Vess’ tale unfolds in the ten minute-video showing off the open-world game and how the gamer can handle the character. Gearing up to execute the “biggest heist the Outer Rim has ever seen,” Vess and her cute companion Nix are the stars of the 2024 game.
The opening scene shows Kay ordering the adorable creature during gameplay while she sneaks around some type of base. When a Hired Gun discovers her, she quickly takes him out with blasters, and the ensuing match shows how she can swap shields amid the controlled explosives. The chase scene also sets up a perfect Star Wars Aesthetic, which I’m sure fans were happy about.
The promising gameplay also shows off the game’s fantastic graphics in the next scene, where Vess meets up with a broker and someone from the Empire in a cantina.
The space combat scenes and the Wanted system set up like Grand Theft Auto gives the latest Star Wars game a huge advantage over previous projects like Jedi: Fallen Warrior and Jedi: Survivor. In the game, the player is free to make certain choices affecting their gameplay, as seen in the cantina scene.
We aren’t certain how heavily the game will rely on the player’s choices, but you can expect a good enough chance to change the course of the game thanks to the new system’s establishment. The Empire will hunt Kay Vess at many turns, and it’ll be up to you to save her from meeting a bad end.
