Since its premiere in 2020, Star Trek: Picard has climbed on to become one of the top original shows at Paramount+. Picking off the story of The Next Generation Admiral Jean-Luc Picard after the six seasons of the Star Trek series, the show ready to wrap up the titular character’s story with a final adventure where he will face a mysterious and dangerous adversary.
Paramount+ dropped the official trailer for the spinoff series during yesterday’s football match’s half-time, detailing Picard’s final voyage and the dangers ahead of him. Season 3 will consist of ten episodes and will see the return of old and new allies joining against a new enemy. You can view the trailer below:
The trailer shows some old faces, including Patrick Stewart, LeVar Burton, Marina Sirtis, Jonathan Frakes, Brent Spiner, Gates McFadden, and Michael Dorn. The trailer also features two new faces, namely Ed Speleers and Todd Stashwick, and the spectacular last adventure teases high stakes for the USS Enterprise crew.
Beverly Crusher warns Jean-Luc not to trust anyone as the new enemy targets Starfleet itself, and who knows if the enemy will attack from outside or inside. The suspense only builds with death threats and exploding ships, and emotions ride high as Jean-Luc’s allies only remind him of the impending doom that awaits them all.
Amanda Plummer joins the show as the new antagonist Vadic, a mysterious alien villain who has set her sights on Picard and his old crew and vows to destroy everyone he holds dear. But she may not be the only villain to look out for, as we see Crusher’s new medic, Speeler’s character, point a gun at Picard’s long-time ally and friend, Riker.
The final season of Star Trek: Picard will premiere on Paramount+ on February 16, followed by weekly episodes every Thursday. So, we just have to wait for a little over a fortnight to finally know what lies ahead for Picard in his final voyage.
