In the penultimate episode of Star Trek: Picard, things escalate into a showdown as the Borg Queen starts to assemble her Borg Collective, thanks to her new alliance with Soong.
Picard and Tallinn take shelter in the nearby chateau as the Queen sends a swarm of drones to try and take over the ship. Picard has another traumatic memory come to the surface.
Raffi and Seven make a run for the ship and try to stop the Queen from assuming control. However, their efforts are in vain.

Star Trek: Picard Season 2 Episode 9 Recap
Picard and the crew are faced with a major new challenge as the Borg Queen aligns herself with Soong and starts building the Borg Collective.
Rios helps Teresa and her son make a narrow escape as the Borg Queen and her drones start to take over Picard’s family vineyard. Thanks to the system that Jurati had in place, the Queen fails to gain full access to the La Sirena ship.
The Borg Queen orders her drones to attack the nearby property where Picard and his crew are stationed.
Rios ends up getting wounded so Picard ensures that he stays out of the rest of the showdown and teleports him, Teresa, and her child to Tallinn’s home. Picard and Tallinn hide in the tunnels under the property.
Being in the tunnels triggers more repressed memories from Picard’s childhood to come to the surface and he remembers his mother’s suicide.
Meanwhile, Seven of Nine and Raffi battle through the drones and barely make it back to the ship, where they are reunited with the Elnor hologram.
He tries to remove the Borg from the ship but doesn’t succeed at the attempt since the Queen was wearing a transport inhibitor. She then deactivates Elnor and takes control of the ship.
Jurati stops the Queen from killing Seven and proposes a new approach and ends up sacrificing herself.
