The past 24 hours have been a wild ride for fans of the Last Of Us franchise. After much anticipation and hype, developers Naughty Dog have released the launch date and release trailer for their upcoming title.
Developer Naughty Dog shared a trailer for The Last of Us Part 2 Remastered, set to release on January 19th, 2024. The title will be a PS5 exclusive, featuring faster loading times, complete DualSense Integration, 4K gaming in Fidelity Mode, and a brand new “No Return” mode.
Naughty Dog mentioned that players can dive deep into revamped mechanics and the thought process behind the title’s development.
One of the biggest new inclusions is the “No Return” survival mode which is designed to ensure that players can prove their experience and skills in randomized encounters. This means that No Return will be a “rogue-like survival mode.”
The developers clarified that the No Return mode will be playable via a number of different characters, some of whom are being introduced as playable for the first time in the franchise. Players can unlock characters, skins, and more in the No Return mode and compete on a “global leaderboard.”
There will also be a Guitar Free Play option that will have Audio FX pedals to modulate the performance and play as different characters in several in-game locations to customize the mood of the set the player wants to play.
To foster a sense of cohesion, the developers have included a comprehensive dive of BTS of how Naughty Dog brought this game to life.
They have also included a set of “Lost Levels” that allows players to have a unique experience by exploring some playable sequences removed from the original release in 2020.
