Snowdrop: BLACKPINK’s Jisoo and Jung Hae-In’s Love Has a New Villain

On November 15, JTBC released a new teaser for the highly-anticipated drama Snowdrop. The latest teaser offers a closer look at the love story of Jung Hae-in’s Im Soo-ho and BLACKPINK Jisoo’s Eun Young-ro.

The latest full version teaser is the first time we see a proper glimpse of the two fateful lovers. As the leads, both Hae-in and Jisoo show palpable chemistry in the one-minute clip.

The company released a full version of the music prologue, a hint of which they released a couple of days ago. The full version teaser includes a close-up of both the actors gazing at each other romantically. Their hands try to muster up the courage to meet as a classic 1987 romantic song, Past Days by Yoo Jae-Ha, plays on the radio.

The moment their hands inch closer, the music cuts off, and the radio host abruptly interrupts by saying,

Oh my! Don’t be like that, and just confess. You might feel shy, but there might not be another opportunity if you don’t do it now. You don’t know if that person might be the most precious gift in your life.

The teaser also shows a montage of their happier times. In one scene, Jisoo and Hae-in dance together in the same environment as shown in the first-ever Snowdrop teaser photo—Young-ro in an elegant dress and Soo-ho in a crisp suit dancing, probably, at an Open House ball.

After the embarrassing interruption, So-ho takes up the radio, trying to busy himself with its many components. Meanwhile, Young-ro picks up the globe.

It looks like political unrest and government surveillance isn’t the only thing coming in between the star-crossed lovers. Even the globe Jisoo picks up, consisting of only two snowdrop flowers, was seen in the previous teasers too. The constant appearance of the globe suggests it may play an essential role in the series.

The mysterious and romantic Snowdrop series will premiere on December 18, 10:30 PM KST on the JTBC network and later on Disney+.

About Snowdrop

Snowdrop is an upcoming JTBC drama written by Yoon Hyun-mi and directed by Jo Hyun-tak, the famous duo behind the popular K-drama SKY Castle.

The show marks the debut of BLACKPINK’s Jisoo, alongside Jung Hae-in, Yoo In-na, Jang Seung-jo, Kim Hye-yoon, Yoon Se-ah and Jung Yoo-jin.

Snowdrop is set in the late 1980s, during the political unrest climate in South Korea. University student Eun Young-ro (BLACKPINK’s Jisoo) finds an injured and bloody Im Soo-ho (Jung Hae-in) after he participates in pro-democratic protests. Young-ro hides him from the government in her all-girls university dorm. As love starts brewing, secrets start spilling as Soo-ho’s identity reveals to be more than just a student.

The series will premiere on December 18, 2021 at 10:30 PM KST on JTBC and later on Disney+.
