Skip and Loafer Episode 13: Release Date, Speculations, Watch Online

Shima and Mitsumi bring the fest to a beautiful end in episode 12 of Skip and Loafer, titled “Glitter.”

With the play being visited by all the people from Shima’s life, he starts feeling conflicted about his own emotions. Confused with his interactions with Ririka and his mom’s feelings, he realizes the true origin of all his feelings and the value of magical girl that makes the confusion disappear, Mitsumi.

A huge weight lifts off his back, Shima finds himself putting a genuine smile on his face for once. Finally, managing to identify the emotions brewing inside of him all this time, he can pinpoint the perfect way to fix it all.

1. Episode 13 Speculation

This season has covered the growth of Mitsumi and Shima as they nurture their friendship and navigate the complex social groups in their class. Beyond that, however, it was more focused on growing out of past trauma and leaving it all behind, in the case of Shima. 

The following season will continue the same wholesome slice-of-life story of Mitsumi in the big city. Still, it will also tackle more profound questions about her social life and friendships. Another story that has yet to receive its ending is that of Egashira Mika.

Mika has been there since episode 1, and her growth has also been covered throughout the season as she is filled with envy for Mitsumi, who was getting a lot of attention from Shima. However, as her friendship with Mitsumi grows, she begins understanding their relationship more, although still not free of the same envy, which we can hopefully see disappear next season.

The current season of Skip and Loafer has ended its run. Neither Studio P.A. Works nor Kodansha has announced any news of the next season. Still, plenty of source material is left to adapt, and this season has been extremely popular, so hopes are high for season 2 to be announced soon.

I. Is Episode 13 of Skip and Loafer on break this week?

Episode 13 of Skip and Loafer is not on a break this week, as the current run of the anime has ended. The next season’s release date is yet to be announced.

3. Recap of Episode 12

Mitsu starts freaking out at just the sight of Ririka. Meanwhile, Shima continues getting more visitors from middle school while babysitting his little brother, and Ririka and the others also show up just in time for the play.

Shima’s mom makes some excuse and leaves before the play, and Mitsu realizes that it was probably all just as intended by Ririka. Chris also tips him off about what happened when he wasn’t there, and Shima is glad that he still has such close friends watching out for him.

Backstage behind the curtains, Shima starts thinking about people’s expectations and everything he does against his will to satisfy others. He doesn’t understand his feelings, which is part of the problem. Amidst the play, he finally realizes that all he has been feeling so far is an envy for everyone who gets to live a passionate and everyday life.

After the play, he runs to catch Ririka and Chris on the way outside, apologizing and promising never to go down that self-destructive path again. He wants to enjoy everyday school life and feels the need to ask her for her permission, but she throws a tantrum and storms off.

On the car ride home, her true feelings emerge as she starts breaking down in front of Chris, ranting everything out. She knows it wasn’t entirely his fault and feels sad for inadvertently making him feel so guilty about it all, but she also starts hating herself for how she acted toward him since the incident.

The awards show for the fest’s events begins at the end of everything, and the most popular club event goes to the drama club, and Shima also finds some new friendships among the play members. Mitsu watches everything wrap up in celebration, is glad everything went so well, and takes some time off with the girls.

Shima has a huge weight lifted off his shoulders, with his childhood pain now taken away thanks to Mitsumi. While she leaves to help with the clean-up, Shima can’t help but want to thank her without thanking her and makes plans to meet up again the next day with an enormous smile on his face.

4. About Skip and Loafer

Skip and Loafer is a manga by Misaki Takamatsu that was launched in Kodansha’s Monthly Afternoon magazine in August 2018. An anime adaptation is set to premiere in April 2023.

The manga focuses on Mitsumi who is from a backward area in Japan and moves to Tokyo for attending high school. Sosuke is an ikemen and he meets Mitsumi on her first day at the new school. Mitsumi is focused on her career, unaware of what the big city has in store for her.

Sosuke becomes quite fond of her and they become friends. It is a cute high school-based series with light-hearted comedy.
