Sigma makes a return in Overwatch 2’s competitive ranked mode

Overwatch 2 developers are known for keeping an eye out for potential bugs and fixing them ASAP to make sure the gaming experience doesn’t decline for the players.

Sigma, a tank hero in Overwatch 2, had a bug in the recent update that allowed him to fly indefinitely upon using his Ultimate ability. The community exploited this to the fullest, leading to developers Blizzard disabling the hero in the game’s competitive playlist and ranked matches. He has now been reinstated in the general gameplay and the ranked matches in the latest update.

Besides bringing back Sigma to ranked matches, there are several adjustments brought by Blizzard, including general gameplay mechanics and hero abilities.

The most exciting addition was the new game mode Starwatch which unifies the PvP and PvE for a limited period. Another character fix in the patch was for Doomfist and Ramattra.

These two characters had the ability to block beam damage inconsistently. Another issue addressed was the Kiriko teleportation bug, which will be fixed in a future update.

A camera shake issue was also under investigation by the developers, as mentioned by Aaron Keller, the game director of Overwatch 2.

Sigma will return quickly after being removed when the hotfix is applied. OG fans will be grateful for the quick return. They must remember that a previous bug had allowed Bastion to use his Ultimate ability indefinitely. This resulted in the character being removed from competitive modes indefinitely for quite a few weeks.

Despite Blizzard working extra hard to fix the issues the game has been facing recently, fans are far from pleased because of the new bugs appearing upon applying the recent major patch.

This includes frustrating team balancing and far-from-impressive enemy AI that has left some fans concerned about the upcoming PvE mode in Overwatch 2 as and when it comes out.
