The action-packed second episode of Shinobi no Ittoki features Ittoki facing three choices; either run, die, or become a ninja. Choosing the third, he successfully enrolls himself in the Kokuten Ninjutsu Academy.
Ittoki is scared and hesitant despite his choice, but I expect some character development when his ninja training starts. He does have the potential to become a skilled fighter, proving that with his strategy to catch Tsubaki in this episode. Here are the latest updates.
Episode 3 Speculation
In the next episode, ‘Quirks of Fate’, according to the preview, we will see Ittoki and Kousetsu begin their ninja training in Kokuten Ninjutsu Academy. We will be introduced to new characters; other students at the academy. Some of these students could either end up being Ittoki’s allies or enemies.
The previous episode also ended with a revelation of a possible mole in the Iga clan, so we could see the Chief and Tokisada trying to figure out who it could potentially be.

Episode 2 Recap
Ittoki struggles to embrace his status as a ninja after realizing that he is a member of the Iga clan and must fulfill his obligations. Tokisada tells Ittoki he can help him escape, but his mother has already made many sacrifices for the village.
Ittoki’s mother assumed leadership of the Iga clan following his father’s death because Ittoki was too young to do so at the time.
Ittoki decides to stay there after learning about his mother’s difficulties. The following day, he is informed that he will take the transfer exam to enroll in the Kokuten Ninjutsu Academy for ninja training. The academy is in the control of the National Ninjutsu Security Committee(NSC), making it a safe place for him.
Tokisada is ultimately informed of the test’s location on the exam day, and he accompanies Ittoki and Kousetsu. Tokisada reassures him that since killing is prohibited for ninjas, he will likely be safe.
They learn that the Kokuten Ninjutsu Academy transfer exam would involve a “hide and seek” ninja simulation. The seeker must touch the hiders within 10 minutes to pass the exam, while the hiders must avoid contact.
During her exam, Kousetsu takes on the role of the seeker and quickly locates the hider. Ittoki is astonished to learn that Satomi Tsubaki is the person he is expected to find when it is his turn. Assassins are everywhere in the service area, looking for a chance to kill him.
Tokisada and Kousetsu are monitoring everyone close to Ittoki. Tsubaki proceeds to the service area alone in an attempt to kill Ittoki before assassins quickly encircle Kousetsu.
To avoid being seen, he uses a fire extinguisher. He activates the water sprinklers with smoke sirens, enabling him to track Tsubaki’s movements despite her disguise. The assassination attempts are revealed, and Tsubaki is taken into custody.
The Koga are confronted by the NSC, but Kidou reports that they also want to catch Tsubaki and her men. Tsubaki is subsequently discovered dead in her cell. Ittoki returns to his uncle’s car, believing he has been defeated because he could not contact her within the stipulated time.
Ittoki is startled to learn that he was chosen for the Kokuten Ninjutsu Academy. It turns out that the school headmaster was moved by Ittoki’s bravery and defended his choice by saying that an essential quality is that he has the heart of a ninja.
In the post-credits scene, Tokisada tells the chief that he believes the Kokuten, NSC, and even the Iga Clan have been infiltrated by the Koga clan.
