In this episode, Izumi took part in the boys’ football team and Shikimori in girls’ volleyball. Izumi got injured as expected but still managed to motivate Shikimori to win.

Shikimori and Izumi will go to see a movie together in episode 3 of Shikimori’s Not Just a Cutie, titled “After Unhappiness, A Fine Weather.”
Inubun gives some movie tickets to Izumi, and he decides to go to watch a movie with Shikimori. Although it seems like they will choose a romance movie, from the manga chapters, it can be said that the movie is probably a horror one. We will experience some more wholesome and cute moments in the next episode.
The manga is episodic with mostly concise chapters, so we can’t be sure what else they will adapt from the manga, but whatever it is, it will always be cute and wholesome. I can’t wait to see which parts will be adapted this season.

Episode 2 Recap
Shikimori and Izumi’s class are having a ballgame tournament today. Izumi is in the football team, and Shikimori is in the volleyball team. Shikimori comes to Izumi, asking him about the match’s timing. Izumi finds her hair cute. He comes to know that all the girls have the same hairstyle for motivation.
Shikimori decides to cheer Izumi during his match. Izumi grabs her hand, wishes her all the best for the coming match, and promises to cheer for her. As expected, Izumi gets hurt during his match and has to leave the game halfway.
In the nurse’s room, Shikimori looks after Izumi. She decides to not go for her match and stay with Izumi as he is badly hurt. Izumi tells her not to do that and convinces her to go and play. She gets ready for her match, but the super popular Kamiya is playing on the opposite team.
Kamiya and her team start leading the game, and Shikimori’s team is on the backfoot now. Izumi comes to see Shikimori’s match during halftime and starts cheering for her. This motivates her to try harder, and they finally manage to win the game (as if that was not expected).
Their class is now the volleyball champion, and Shikimori has become very popular after the match. Every other girl wants to be with her. All this leads to Izumi getting lonely as Shikimori is not able to give any time to him. He gets really upset.
Suddenly, Inubun pushes Izumi back, and a ball comes flying over to them and hits Inubun’s face. Shikimori gets somewhat jealous and is not able to reach Izumi because of the crowd. By the end of the day, Inubun is badly hurt and plastered all over because of saving Izumi time and time again.
Izumi is quite sad, and while he is going down the stairs, his leg slips, and he is about to fall when Shikimori grabs him from behind and asks him why he is going home alone. She tells him that she wants to go home with him no matter the popularity.
He tells her that he was not going home and would wait until she arrived as he, too, has been very lonely. They then go home together.
