Episode 1 of The Rising of the Shield Hero season 2 begins with Rishia and Keel practicing to locate their “Ki,” as Elrasla asked them to. Keel wants to fight monsters in the next wave, but Elrasla says he’s not ready.
They hear people screaming, and they see big red-eyed bats destroying things and injuring people. Naofumi and Elrasla run to their rescue, but Filo and Raphtalia have already taken care of that.
Naofumi looks at the sky and sees that the countdown to the next wave has stopped. Who could be behind this attack?

Episode 2 Speculations
Itsuki and his men were being complete jerks to Rishia, which was horrible. So Raphtalia decided it would be good to have Rishia become Naofumi’s slave.
Now that she’s become one, she’s supposed to be stronger, but throughout the episode, we don’t see her fight even once. Maybe we’ll see her grow in the episodes to come.
At the end of the episode, we see a strange woman wearing a cloak who comes up to Naofumi and others, asking them to kill her. Who could she be?
Her clothes make her look royal, but why does she want to die? Is she the real monster who’s unwillingly destroying people’s homes? We’ll find out in the next episode.

Episode 1 Recap
Naofumi has become the ruler of a village called Lurolona, which was Raphtalia’s home. He’s rebuilt the entire place and hopes to get ready for the next wave.
Elrasla is seen teaching martial arts somewhere, and she asks Keel and the person wearing the penguin suit to locate their “ki” in their stomach. Naofumi comes in to watch their practice, revealing that Rishia is inside the penguin suit.
Soon they hear screaming and see a bunch of monster bats attacking the people. Elrasla and Naofumi go off to fight the monsters, but Filo and Raphtalia have already killed them. Naofumi sees that the countdown to the wave has stopped.
The shield heroes are summoned by the queen and asked to deal with the bat situation, but since they’re not wave monsters, all heroes but Naofumi refuse. The legendary monster called spirit tortoise has revived in the spirit tortoise kingdom and will bring many calamities.
Rishia asks Itsuki to let her on his team again, but he says she’ll never be strong enough. As they prepare for their journey to the east, Rishia feels bad for herself. Raphtalia takes Rishia to be made a slave of Naofumi. This would make her much stronger, so Rishia agrees to do it.
They go on their journey and see refugees from the spirit tortoise kingdom. The bats make another attack but with monster monkeys this time. Naofumi kills them with the wrath shield, but it weakens him.
A mysterious lady comes up to Naofumi and asks him to kill her.

Tate no Yusha no Nariagari or The Rising of the Shield Hero is an isekai light novel series written by Aneko Yusagi. It was initially published as a web novel on the Shosetsuka ni Naro website from 2012 to 2015.
In August 2013, Media Factory started publishing the light novel series with an expanded storyline featuring illustrations by Seira Minami.
