Seven Deadly Sins Season 4 – Release Date, News & Visuals

Seven Deadly Sins(Nanatsu no Tazai) is all set for season four.

After a long wait, Season 3 finally aired, and to be honest, it was a disappointment. Not because of story, but the animation by Studio DEEN was a disaster.

While fans don’t have much hope for season 4 or officially the second cour of season 3, one must admit that the story of Meliodas is pretty fantastic.

Hence, without further ado, let’s talk about the fourth season 4 of the Seven Deadly Sins.

1. Season 4 / Season 3 PART 2 Release Date

There has been no exact release date yet by the makers of the show, although the shooting has wrapped up in Japan

Season 4 is officially titled, “Seven Deadly Sins: Anger’s Judgement,” and will be out on 15 October 2020. Although the release date could be deferred due to the pandemic COVID-19 and might shift into the Winter 2021 slot.

2. Theory Section

In this section, I will talk about some of the critical topics that usually affect the production and release of various anime seasons, especially the drawbacks of Season 3.

I. Initial Animation Studio

The first two seasons of the anime were produced by A-1 Pictures, which is well known for ‘Blue Exorcist.’

II. Studio Change

When there was a studio change for productione, fans were skeptical. When it was revealed that it was Studio DEEN, it all came down.

Studio DEEN hasn’t gained a great reputation yet. Season 3 of the anime proved why. The show felt more like a slideshow rather than a proper animated series.

III. Censorship

Another reason for the disappointment is the odd censorship within the anime to which the causes are unknown. It is unknown whether the studio enforced the censorship or whether it was an edit to conform to the TV Tokyo Broadcast guidelines.

Fans were appalled by the censorship of a substantial amount of blood from red to white. There were also blatantly obvious black spots used to cover gruesome scenes.

3. Season 4 Trailer

A teaser for the fourth season has been roaming around the internet for a while, and here it is :

5. Expected Storyline/Plot

As of now, the three seasons have covered 268 chapters from its source manga. The manga has ended with a whopping 346 chapters. There’s also the possibility of Season 5.

The 4th season has been titled ‘Seven Deadly Sins: Anger’s Judgement.’

After the recent revelations about Meliodas and Elizabeth’s curse, the story has taken quite a dramatic route. The war waged against the commandments, angels and the like is still on. In the next season, we will find out Ban’s dark fox form, just a heads up.

6. Seven Deadly Sins Manga Sequel

Kodansha USA Publishing announced recently that the manga is getting a sequel. While it’s title has not been set in stone, it is likely to be “Mokushiroku no Yon-kishi (The Four Knights of the Apocalypse)”. The story will center around the son of Meliodas — Tristan, one of the four horsemen.

8. About Seven Deadly Sins

The Seven Deadly Sins were once a group of strongest knights in Britannia, in the kingdom of Liones. However, they supposedly betrayed their homeland and turned their blades against Britannia to overthrow the ruler of Liones. They were then defeated by the Holy Knights of Britannia, although the rumors persisted that they all were still alive.

Ten years later, the Holy Knights staged a coup de’tat and captured the king in the process and became the new tyrannical rulers of the kingdom. The third princess Elizabeth then starts out on a journey to search for the ‘Seven Deadly Sins’ to take back her kingdom from tyranny and seeks justice in this unjust world.
