Barbie is an upcoming fantasy movie based on Mattel’s famous Barbie doll franchise. Greta Gerwig, the director of Little Women and Lady Bird, is set to helm the upcoming film.
The movie stars Margot Robbie as Barbie and Ryan Gosling as Ken, Barbie’s boyfriend.
Sony, who was originally producing the film, at one point considered Amy Schumer and Anne Hathaway for the lead role. Following multiple changes in writers and directors, WB finally took over and turned Barbie’s story around from top to bottom.
The movie features other stars such as America Ferrera, Simu Liu, Kate McKinnon, Issa Rae, Michael Cera, and Will Ferrell in supporting roles.
Apparently, Rae, Hari Nef, Liu, and Ncuti Gatwa play different versions of Barbie and Ken. Despite the secretive filming taking place in Leavesden, England since spring, fans have been lucky enough to get their hands on some set photos.
Mediafilm has shared new set photos from the Barbie live-action movie, showing Robbie wearing pink bellbottoms. The pictures show her leaving her trailer.
It’s impossible to tell what particular scene she’s preparing for filming from the images. However, the images give an idea of what kind of outfits Barbie will be sporting in the upcoming film.

The studio had earlier released a proper first look at both Robbie and Gosling’s characters.
The picture for Margot Robbie’s Barbie showed her in a convertible as the live-action doll riding against a pink set.
With bleach blonde hair, a cut-off jacket, and a hunky physique, Ryan Gosling’s Ken surprised the internet.
Both Barbie and Ken’s live-action avatars have received an overwhelming amount of support, though some think Gosling is too old to play Ken.
The excellent casting of Barbie continues to boost the buzz surrounding the film on social media.
Based on the latest set photos, Gerwig’s live-action Barbie movie is definitely going full camp. In contrast to the first official image, which had a vintage Americana look, these new set photos are more in line with a 1970s Rodeo look.
Until much of the plot is revealed, it’s difficult to predict what tone Barbie will take. Nonetheless, it appears increasingly likely that Barbie won’t take place in a modern setting.
The plot details of the movie are under wraps at the moment. However, we’re likely to see much more about it in the coming days.
