Trust M. Night Shyamalan to keep on hard-hitting the audience with leveled-up creepiness.
Apple TV+ released the official trailer of the psychological horror series Servant Season 3, and its creepiness knows no boundaries.
In the upcoming season, Jericho, the eerie-looking, reborn doll, and the mysterious nanny, Leanne Grayson (Nell Tiger Free), are back with Dorothy (Lauren Ambrose) and Sean Turner (Toby Kebbel). But the return has brought with it a plague and, in a way, quite literally, hell.
The trailer opens with Leanne shrieking, “This is my family, and I won’t let you take me away from them,” implying a bigger force infiltrating the house.
The next few seconds show the Turner family celebrating Jericho’s birthday. All seems to be going well till members of the Church of Lesser Saints, a religious cult, start targeting and attacking the Turner family.
Soon, Dorothy starts doubting everything about Leanne while Sean and Julian (Rupert Grint) tell her to make peace with her.
The couple finds skeletal ruins, things decaying, and a room full of bugs and insects in their house. The video continues with its eerie music and more suspenseful closeups of Leanne.
While Sean at first grieved the pain of losing their child alone and hence brought doll Jericho to the house to help Dorothy cope with trauma. However, the Season 2 ending showed Leanne with a living, real baby Jericho, who tells Sean that “God didn’t bring Jericho back.”
In the caption, Apple TV+ writes, “Be careful what you wish for.” Servant Season 2 saw Dorothy and Sean going through endless emotional and physical turmoil, searching for Leanne and Jericho but had the audience disinterested with its bleak storyline.
Amid the stomach-churning horror, open-ended questions went for a toss as fans wondered if the story even progressed much.
Season 3, bringing back a real Jericho and suggesting Leanne’s supernatural powers, might earn some redemption cookies.
All ten episodes of Servant Season 3 will be released on Apple TV+ on January 21.
