Secret Invasion E3: Fury vs Gravik, Super-Skrulls vs Everyone, and More

If you’re a fan of the MCU, you’re probably still reeling from the horror of Nick Fury’s actions in Secret Invasion this week.

The second episode of the show, titled “Promises,” reveals the consequences of Nick Fury’s broken promises to the Skrulls, who have been living on Earth as refugees since 1995. Fury, who had vowed to find them a new home with the help of Captain Marvel, failed to keep his word and left them to fend for themselves after the Blip.

Now, a rogue faction of Skrulls led by Gravik intends to incite a catastrophe on Earth. Can Nick and the S.H.I.E.L.D. stop them?

The episode ended with a cliffhanger, as Gravik was appointed the new Skrull General by the Skrull Council, which is divided over how to deal with the humans.

Gravik has a sinister plan that involves creating Super-Skrulls, enhanced warriors with the powers of multiple superheroes. Meanwhile, Fury is on the run with Talos, the Skrull leader who still trusts him, and Sonya Falsworth, a mysterious British agent who may have her own agenda.

The stage is set for a war between humans and Skrulls that could change the MCU forever.

So, what can we expect from next week’s episode of Secret Invasion? Here are some of my predictions and hopes for the next episode of this thrilling series.

Without further ado, let’s get started.

1. Secret Invasion Episode 3 Synopsis/Speculation

Secret Invasion E3: Fury vs Gravik, Super-Skrulls vs Everyone, and More
Nick and Talos in Secret Invasion

Fury and Talos are the only ones who know the truth about Gravik’s involvement in the Moscow bombing, and they will try to expose him and stop his plans.

However, they will face many obstacles, such as Russian soldiers hunting them down, Skrull spies infiltrating every level of society, and Falsworth’s dubious loyalty.

I want to see more of Fury and Talos’ dynamic in Episode 3, as they are one of the show’s highlights. Samuel L. Jackson and Ben Mendelsohn have great chemistry as an unlikely duo, and their banter and friendship add some much-needed humor and heart to the dark and grim story.

Falsworth’s character and role in this conflict seems very fishy. Olivia Colman is a brilliant actress who can bring depth and nuance to any role, and I’m curious to see what secrets she’s hiding.

Gravik is clearly the main villain of Secret Invasion, and he has a terrifying weapon at his disposal: Super-Skrulls.

In Episode 2, we saw him experimenting on a Skrull prisoner with a device that seemed to give him superpowers. We also saw him wearing a necklace with four pendants that resembled the Fantastic Four logo.

This could be a hint that he’s trying to create Super-Skrulls with the abilities of Marvel’s first family, who have yet to appear in the MCU.

I expect Gravik to unleash his Super-Skrulls in Episode 3, either as a demonstration of his power or as an attack on a human target.

This could lead to some epic action scenes and some surprising reveals about who is really a Skrull in disguise.

Moreover, Gravik might also have plans for his Super-Skrulls besides war.

Could he be trying to create a new Skrull race or even a new world order?

Skrulls in Secret Invasion

The first two episodes have ended with massive twists, and I expect nothing different from next week’s episode.

The show has already surprised us with the death of Maria Hill, the reveal of Gravik’s betrayal, and the introduction of Falsworth. What else could it have in store for us?

I have some theories about what the next big twist could be,

  • Fury is actually a Skrull, and the real Fury is either dead or captured by Gravik. Can Secret Invasion pull off a Maria Hill 2.0?
  • Falsworth is a Kree, and she’s working with Gravik to destroy both humans and Skrulls. I am very doubtful about her loyalties.
  • Gravik is actually working for someone else, such as a higher Skrull authority or a cosmic entity. Does this Ronan the Accuser have a Thanos we haven’t seen yet?
  • Another faction of Skrulls is trying to stop Gravik and help Fury and Talos. Civil War, anyone?

Secret Invasion is shaping up to be one of the MCU’s best and most ambitious shows, and I can’t wait to see what happens next.

6.   Secret Invasion Episode 2 Recap

Secret Invasion E3: Fury vs Gravik, Super-Skrulls vs Everyone, and More
Nick Fury

If you were busy brainstorming ideas for your own organization to save the universe and missed this week’s episode, then we have come up with the perfect recap for you.

In this week’s episode of Secret Invasion, we see a flashback to 1997, when Nick Fury recruited a young Gravik and Gi’ah’s mother to join his secret project of infiltrating the Earth with Skrulls.

Fury promised them that he and Captain Marvel would help them find a new home planet, but he never fulfilled his promise.

In the present, Fury and Talos escape from the scene of the explosion that killed Maria Hill and many other Skrulls. They board a train, and Talos reveals that he knows Fury is a Skrull impostor.

He also tells him that there is a rogue faction of Skrulls led by Gravik, who wants to take over the Earth and expose the secret invasion. Talos asks Fury to help him stop Gravik and save his daughter Gi’ah, who also works for him.

Meanwhile, Gi’ah and Gravik regroup with their followers and plan their next move. They have a list of high-profile targets that they want to replace with Skrulls, including the president of the United States. They also have a device that can detect Skrulls in disguise, which they use to kill a senator secretly working for Fury.

Fury and Talos track down Gravik’s location and infiltrate his base. They find Gi’ah and try to convince her to join them, but she refuses.

She blames Fury for abandoning them and betraying her mother, who died in a mission. She also reveals that she knows Fury’s true identity: he is Talos’s son, who was sent to Earth as a spy by his father.

The episode ends with a shocking twist: Fury’s wife, who has been waiting for him at home, is also a Skrull. She calls him and tells him she loves him; unaware he is not the real Fury.
