Scott Pilgrim Official Soundtrack Expanded Edition Gets A Release Date

The expanded edition of Scott Pilgrim vs. the World’s beloved soundtrack is officially slated for release next month.

Originally released in 2010, Scott Pilgrim was filmmaker Edgar Wright’s adaptation of the popular graphic novels by author and artist, Bryan Lee O’Malley.

Alongside Arrested Development’s Michael Cera as Pilgrim, the film’s cast included Anna Kendrick, Jason Schwartzman, Brie Larson and Kieran Culkin.

Scott Pilgrim vs. the World tells the story of a slacker musician who must defeat his new girlfriend’s seven ex-boyfriends in order to truly win her heart.

Edgar Wright dropped the good news on Twitter to a chorus of cheers from the fan base. Basically, the full thing hits streaming services on July 9. But, there’s an added bonus as Brie Larson’s Black Sheep is out right now.

It may be noted that Clash at Demonhead is not a real band which is why the Metric handled the duties for the movie.

The soundtrack includes numerous songs from the film including tracks by in-universe bands like Sex Bob-Omb and Crash and the Boys

There’s no shortage of upcoming projects for Wright, which is excellent news for fans. But for those who feel that Scott Pilgrim vs. the World can never be topped, it’s somewhat disheartening to know that a sequel isn’t currently planned and likely never will be. That said, a new extended soundtrack is a great consolation and will certainly be a must-have for fans.

About Scott Pilgrim vs. the World

Scott Pilgrim vs. the World is a 2010 romantic action comedy film co-written, produced, and directed by Edgar Wright. Based on the graphic novel series Scott Pilgrim by Bryan Lee O’Malley whose film adaptation was proposed following the release of the first volume. Wright has been attached to the project ever since.

As bass guitarist for a garage-rock band, Scott Pilgrim (Michael Cera) has never had trouble getting a girlfriend; usually, the problem is getting rid of them. But when Ramona Flowers (Mary Elizabeth Winstead) skates into his heart, he finds she has the most troublesome baggage of all: an army of ex-boyfriends who will stop at nothing to eliminate him from her list of suitors.
