Sasaki and Peeps Episode 2: Release Date, Speculations, Watch Online

Sasaki meets Peeps and starts running a business in another world in episode 1 of Sasaki and Peeps, titled “Real Life and Fantasy.”

It was a long introduction episode. We met Sasaki, a middle-aged man who is earning a meager income and loves cute pets. He comes across a Java sparrow who can speak and learns that the sparrow is from another world. 

Thus starts the journey of this strange duo into the world of teleportation, magic, and business. While Sasaki works hard to make a good living in the other world, he comes across Hoshizaki, a psychic who works for the bureau that tracks down evil psychics.

1. Episode 2 Release Date

Episode 2 of Sasaki and Peeps will be released on Friday, January 12, 2024. It is a weekly anime, and new episodes are released every Friday. You can watch Sasaki and Peeps anime on Crunchyroll.

2. Episode 2 Speculations

Sasaki will try to manage his time between his work in the bureau and his business in the other world in episode 2 of Sasaki and Peeps. 

Things were going pretty well for Sasaki, but unfortunately, he had to get involved with a rather strange bureau. Now, teleporting to the other world seems to be a tough job for him as he will have to skip the eyes of the bureau without raising any suspicion. 

Also, his section chief, Akutsu, seems to be a weird guy. Who knows, he might be carrying out some illegal business or murder behind the scenes. The anime provides a unique exploration of the isekai genre, and let’s hope it doesn’t downgrade itself into generosity. 

3. Episode 1 Recap

Sasaki is an average middle-aged guy who works in a normal job with a median salary and loves cats and dogs. He lives a quiet and peaceful life. One day, he decides to head out and buy a pet for himself.

Despite being out of budget, he still tries to find a cute pet. He comes across a cute little java sparrow. He immediately falls for its cuteness. He brings the sparrow home, only to realize it can speak. Its name is Piercarlo. 

The sparrow tells Sasaki that he is from another world and has been reborn as a sparrow in this world (it identifies as a male). He wants to eat some good food and asks Sasaki for beef. Sasaki can’t feed him because beef is expensive. Peeps (sparrow’s nickname) tells Sasaki he wants to live as he wishes.

So, he offers to make a pact with Sasaki. If Sasaki allows him to live his desired life, Peeps will care for the money he needs. Sasaki agrees. After the pact is complete, Peeps takes Sasaki to his world. 

Peeps’s town is a remote city in the Kingdom of Herz called Baytrium. Sasaki’s life gets busy as he starts trading stuff from one world to another and is always occupied with work. 

They go to Hermann Trading Company, owned by the nobles who run the city. He successfully gets to sell the things he bought, and his visits to the company become regular, earning him good money while he learns magic and explores the business.

During one of his visits, he comes across French, a chef in Peeps’s world who got downsized by his owner. Sasaki joins hands with him and opens a restaurant with the help of one of the nobles from the trading company. 

Slowly and steadily, he sold various other types of items in Baytrium and was finally successful in meeting the lord of the city, Viscount Muller.  Viscount Muller is impressed by Sasaki’s offers and strikes a good deal with him. 

Back in his world, Sasaki’s friend quits his job and throws a farewell party. While heading home, Sasaki comes across a guy who is about to attack a girl. 

He decides to save the girl, but after getting saved, the girl pulls out a gun and tells Sasaki to go with her. Sasaki thinks some more people from Peeps’s world have shown up. 

Peeps comes along with Sasaki. The girl introduces herself as Hoshizaki. She tells Sasaki about psychics. She works on stopping psychics who misuse their power. 

She takes Sasaki to the Paranormal Phenomena Countermeasure Bureau. She tells him he will now work with her as a government employee. Sasaki tells her that he can only form icicles and do nothing more. 

Hoshizaki is still excited to work with him as his abilities sit well with hers. Sasaki takes Peeps out, and they teleport to the other world. After completing all the necessary work, Sasaki returns back. 

Hoshizaki wakes him up early and tells him to go along with her for some work. The section chief Akutsu shows up. He gives Hoshizaki some other work and tells Sasaki about his training. 

Sasaki gets trained and taught about the work he needs to do in the bureau. When he returns home, Otonari (a girl next door) offers him some cookies. She asks him about Hoshizaki and his work, he gives her vague information. 

Peeps warns Sasaki that they have installed bugs and cameras in his house. Sasaki removes them and warns his senior not to do any such thing anymore. Akutsu tells him it was just a test. Sasaki lays on his bed, wondering about the slow peaceful life in the other world he wanted to live.

Sasaki and Peeps is a light novel by Buncololi and Kantoku. It is an ongoing novel, with its first volume being published in January 2021.

Sasaki has a dull life with nothing other than work in it. He buys a new bird to keep company, but the bird bestows him with the ability to cross worlds.

He quickly figures out that he can trade objects and furniture in the different worlds to make a comfortable living. However, quite a few crooks stand between him and his goal.
