Orient, the trending manga by Shinobu Ohtaka, is undergoing talks of an anime adaptation. The series serves as a testimony of friendship in a world infested with evil demons.
It is a battle oriented fantasy series that follows the lives of two childhood friends, who have promised to always stick together and have sworn an oath to become the strongest in the world.
When one of them strays, will the other one be able to bring him to the right path?
Kodansha has revealed that the Orient manga series will receive an anime adaptation. A teaser video is also being streamed.
The video shows the main characters and their awesome sword-fighting skills. In a world where evil has taken over and demons are praised, Kojiro and Mushashi train and fight against devils.
The manga was first serialized in the Weekly Shonen Jump magazine in May 2018. However, it will soon change magazines and transfer to the Bessatsu Shonen magazine on 9th February.
Orient will release its 113th chapter in the Weekly Shonen Jump and it will be the last chapter of the series in the magazine. The release date, staff, and cast details have not been revealed for the upcoming anime yet.
Ohtaka’s other popular works include Magi and Sumomomo Momomo – The Strongest Bride on Earth. Both the series have led to anime adaptations.
Magi also has a spinoff manga which got adapted into OVAs. It inspired a 25 episode anime in 2012 and a sequel in 2013.
Orient is full of samurai-style action scenes. Mushashi and Kojiro act as each other’s backbones and fight together. They get drawn into the hypocrite world where they have to get their hands dirty to set things straight again.
