Samurai 8: Hachimaruden is the latest manga by all-time favorite Masashi Kishimoto-sensei. Hachimaru is on his journey to find other key holders just like Hachi himself and to save the universe.
Chapter 36 of the manga got released today. It introduced us to a lot of new characters, which included two new keys like Hachi, thus kicking off the next arc of the manga.
1. Chapter 37 Release Date
Chapter 37 of Samurai 8: Hachimaruden will be released on February 9th, 2020. Chapter 37 will begin with Hachimaru’s first interaction between cat samurai Hanaichi and another key-holder – a would-be female samurai.
2. Chapter 37 Speculation
Chapter 36 of the manga kicked off with the next arc. In addition to that introduced two new keys for the two legendary boxes – Ryu and an unnamed girl.
At the end of the chapter, Hanaichi used an Ususama-style technique, Cat Beckoning, which he led the Hachi’s group towards them.
The next chapter will most likely provide more information on the fellow keys of Hachimaru, and the reason for Hanaichi being pursued by Sen, the silent.
3. Chapter 37 Raw Scans
Chapter 37 gave us a lot of information about how Hanaichi is connected with Hachi and gang. The samurai who fought Daruma in the first chapter was none other than Hanaichi. Like Daruma and Hachimaru, Hanaichi and Goku are after the keys to the Pandora Box as well.
It also revealed that Hanaichi was involved in the conspiracy that sealed Daruma into the cat’s body. Although Hanaichi had to suffer the repercussions since he got sealed into the body of a dog himself.

4. Chapter 36 Hanaichi and Goku Plot
Chapter 36, titled Hanaichi and Goku, was released today. As Hachimaru completed his license download, Daruma explained the concept of stats. The digital plane also previewed various of Kongo Yasha techniques including Daruma’s signature move – Atmos Fangs, and the ultimate move – Shooting Star Sword.
To which Daruma explains that Hachimaru will need to rack up his stats to be able to perform higher moves, while Atmos Fangs require stats to be 900, Shooting Star’s requirement is infinity. He further explains that infinity signifies that this move is unique to Fudo Myo-o and cannot be performed by anyone else. It teases the idea that Hachi, at some point, will be able to perform Shooting Star Sword.
The next panel shows Hachi back in the real world, and now he can see other keys on his digital map. For unknown reasons, he seems to recognize Ryu as a key that places another question mark on Ryu’s past.
After that Hanaichi and his pupil are shown along with the girl they just saved, Hanaichi tells the girl that she will become the most exceptional samurai in the galaxy because of her extraordinary gravity, which only means one thing – she is a key.
Suddenly, Hanaichi notices Hachimaru and Sen, he then uses the Usumasa style technique – Cat Beckoning, and suddenly Hachi’s group appears before them. It is still unknown whether they are just digital projections or did Hanaichi transported them to his location in mere seconds.
