Samurai 8 Chapter 36 – Release Date, Raw Scans, Spoilers, Where To Read & Story Updates

Samurai 8: Hachimaruden is the latest manga by all-time favorite Masashi Kishimoto-sensei. Hachimaru is on his journey to find other key holders just like Hachi himself and to save the universe.

Chapter 35 of the manga got released today. As I speculated earlier, it provided more insight into the samurais, the warrior God Fudo Myo-o, and the existence of the whole universe. The next chapter will likely provide details for the upcoming arc.

1. Chapter 36 Release Date

Chapter 36 of Samurai 8: Hachimaruden will be titled “Hanaichi and Goku” and release on February 2nd, 2020. Since chapter 35 ended with full download the Kongo-Yasha license, chapter 36 will begin the next arc.

2. Chapter 36 Speculation

Chapter 36, Wabi Sabi, introduced us to Fudo Myo-o. It ended with Hachimaru’s license’s download completion. The manga will enter its new arc with the next chapter.

With Hachimaru becoming a full-fledged member of Kongo-Yasha style, things are likely to heat up very soon. Sen the silent will probably explain about the dog samurai, Hanaichi, in the next chapter.

While they are doing it for “community service,” the fact that Hanaichi’s pupil is a key-holder like Hachimaru points to a possibility that they will play a more prominent role in the manga than just a master & pupil. Also, it seems like Daruma won’t be waking up from his slumber anytime soon.

3. Chapter 36 Spoilers

Chapter 36, titled Hanaichi and Goku, came out in Japan recently, and a Reddit user posted the spoilers online. As we speculated, chapter 36 not only kicked off with the next arc but focused on the dog-samurai Hanaichi too.

With the download completion, Hachimaru is a full-fledged Kongo Yasha member now. This chapter had three significant highlights.

First, the chapter continued with the “stats” from chapter 35 and previewed several Kongo Yasha techniques. These included Daruma’s signature move – Atmos Fangs and an ultimate skill Shooting Star Sword which requires the stats to be infinity. The chapter also mentioned many swords and gun skills.

Second, chapter 36 added to the ongoing mystery of Ryu’s true identity. For unknown reasons, Hachi picked up Ryu on his radar as a key-holder. This is intriguing because Ryu has already shown exceptional samurai capabilities. How Kishimoto sensei will address this mystery is something fans should be looking out for.

Third, the chapter shows some girl training with Hanaichi, which just teased the idea that girls can be samurais too.

4. Chapter 35 Plot

Chapter 35, titled ‘Wabi Sabi’ of Samurai 8: The Tale of Hachimaru, was released today. It told us much more about the existence of the world of Samurai 8. This chapter was also the first proper appearance of the Warrior God, Fudo Myo-o.

The chapter starts with Fudo Myo-o appearing in the digital plane of Hachimaru’s consciousness. While it startles both Daruma and Hachi, Myo-o explains that it was he who created the samurais. And that every samurai’s digital consciousness is linked to Fudo Myo-o.

He created a program from him to appear when a potential key-holder of Pandora and Mandala box is downloading the license. However, when asked by Daruma, he states that while Hachimaru has the potential of becoming the key-holder, there are indeed infinite possibilities(Well, we all know he’s going to become one).

He further explains that he not only created the samurai(s), and the two boxes but literally EVERYONE.

Fudo Myo-o is the master and creator of the primary antagonist, Kala, and the indirect creator of everything and everyone that exists in the universe. However, Fudo Myo-o told Hachi that he is not a god. He came from a different universe and is a mere “Information Aggregation.” This means that there is more than just one being who can create an entire universe.

He further adds that when he came to this universe, everything was in perfect balance. That perfection gave rise to nothingness, and every particle had no weight at all. Then, Fudo Myo-o added H-particles from his body to the universe, thereby disrupting the perfection.

This led to every particle attracting and repelling one another and creating bigger particles up to the point of planets, stars, and the whole universe. This was his program – a concept of beauty. It is known as Wabi-Sabi – the acceptance of imperfection in the ancient books.

However, his student Kala has a different take on beauty and seeks perfection. To achieve the “perfect” universe, Kala is finding the Mandala box to destroy the universe and restore its perfect state – nothingness.

Fudo Myo-o also tells Daruma that both the boxes will be in their reach forever; they just have to “see” it. He points out that Daruma’s mind’s eye is still unrefined; that is why he is unable to see things that go beyond just eyesight.
