The unfortunate fact is that he is still in no condition to be fighting even now, and he has to face several powerful members of the JAA in his current state. Shin was in a predicament, as he knew he didn’t have the power to help Sakamoto, but also could not leave him to die. Luckily for him, help was right around the corner.

2. Recap of Chapter 218 of Sakamoto Days
The latest chapter of Sakamoto Days started with Sakamoto stepping in to save Shin. He then asked Shin to stay back, as he was pushing himself too hard. Shin noticed that Sakamoto’s hand was still shivering, and that he was still traumatised. While Sakamoto’s efforts were valiant, they were still far from ideal, because X made it clear that he was in no mood to talk, and that he wanted Sakamoto, Shin, and Atari killed.
When Shin insisted that he’d fight with Sakamoto, he was thrown out of the aquarium along with Atari. He also detonated a grenade to counter the JAA members attacking him, as a result of which the aquarium’s defence sequence kicked in, sealing the entrance off. Shin begged Sakamoto not to fight alone, and Sakamoto replied by asking Shin to take care of Aoi, Hana, and everyone else, which basically meant that Sakamoto was willing to die to save Shin.
While all this was noble and very emotional, Shin did not want Sakamoto to sacrifice himself, and he was willing to do anything to aid Sakamoto. He then ran to try and find any allies who could help Sakamoto, and ultimately ran into Heisuke, Kindaka, and others, but couldn’t bring himself to ask for their help as they too very extremely worn out after their own battles.
Heisuke has been around Shin for a while, so it wasn’t surprising to see that he figured out Shin’s situation, and almost immediately agreed to go and help Sakamoto, which is pretty ironic, as Shin is the ESP who could read minds. Regardless, the whole group marched to the aquarium to save Sakamoto from the JAA. Meanwhile, at the aquarium, Sakamoto was getting thrown around by every member of the JAA, and all of them were shocked to see Sakamoto’s resilience.
X was thrown off by the fact that Sakamoto refused to fight, so he decided to talk to him anyway. When X suggested that Sakamoto hoped to see Akao within X, Sakamoto refused, saying that Akao was nothing but a fantasy that X created inside himself, his reasoning being that Akao would never allow X to act the way he was acting currently. If she did live within him, then X would’ve already been killed by Akao.

The latest chapter of Sakamoto Days ended in quite an interesting situation, as X was quite angered by Sakamoto’s comments. The reason why Sakamoto tried to rile up X when he was already in an unfavorable situation is probably because he is the badass that he is. We can expect Sakamoto to get heavily injured in the upcoming chapter thanks to X and the remaining members of the JAA.
Meanwhile, Shin, Boiled, Kindaka, and Heisuke are making their way to Sakamoto. Not all of them are in perfect condition to be battling the JAA members to safely secure a victory, but their entry will surely create an opening for Sakamoto and the others to escape as soon as possible.
