Sakamoto Days Chapter 217: Release Date, What to Expect and More

Sakamoto Days is back with its latest chapter, and although the chapter was rather short, Shin is still alive, and that’s what really matters. Chapter 216 featured Atari’s entry, which was how Shin survived Takamura’s slash. However, Atari has run out of all her good luck, so Shin is left with nothing but a lot of bad luck along with several members of the JAA and Takamura. Will he come out of this unscathed?

In this article, we’ll recap what happened in chapter 216 of Sakamoto Days. We’ll also cover everything you need to know about the Chapter 217 release. Be careful, though, as this article contains spoilers for the latest chapters of the Sakamoto Days manga.

1. Release Date of Chapter 217 of Sakamoto Days

Chapter 217 of Sakamoto Days will be released on Sunday, the 15th of June 2025. Sakamoto Days can be read on Viz Media or MangaPlus

I. Is Sakamoto Days on break this week?

No, Sakamoto Days will have its upcoming chapter released on Sunday as per schedule, without any delay.

2. Recap of Chapter 216 of Sakamoto Days

Chapter 216 of Sakamoto Days started with the entry of Atari, and Shin’s bewildered face on seeing himself alive. Atari explained that this was a consequence of the tunnel effect and that as long as there was a remote possibility of Shin surviving Takamura’s slash, that’s where luck comes into play. Atari used up all her luck to save Shin, so all she had left was a lot of bad luck.

Following this, five members of the neo JAA walked in, and this is how Atari’s bad luck manifested as none of them had gotten the orders to get to the aquarium; some of them wandered into the aquarium, and some of them had just always wanted to go to the aquarium on that particular day. Regardless of how they managed to get there, Shin still had to deal with all of them, and he wasn’t given much time, and he still couldn’t release any bloodlust either.

Since the JAA had already decided to kill anyone in Shin’s gang on encounter, they wasted no time trying to try and kill him. One of the women pulled a whale out of the tank just to attack Shin, which Shin miraculously managed to dodge. We do not endorse cruelty to animals, so we ask you not to perform any of these acts at home. From here on, it was just Shin trying his best to fend himself and Atari off the JAA members, and he really had his hands full with them.

After Shin got knocked down pretty bad, Atari asked Shin to kill her, as his bad luck would go along with her death. She explained that she wanted to save him as he had saved her before, and she didn’t mind if she had to die in the process. Shin told her that he had promised Sakamoto that he would protect everyone until he came back, and he wasn’t willing to go back on that word. He told Atari that she’d have to make her own luck to survive in this world. He then went up and got ready to face his foes, and then got an idea to handle the situation in front of him.

3. Speculation for Chapter 217 of Sakamoto Days

The latest chapter of Sakamoto Days ended with Shin revealing that he had a huge idea to escape from their current situation. While we have no clue what it is, it certainly has something to do with Atari, as one of the closing lines of that chapter was, “You gotta make your own luck to survive in this world”. This could mean that Shin could use Atari to turn the tables to his favor.

Since Atari did show up out of the blue to save Shin, and since Atari did mention how the tunnel effect could save people if there was even a slight possibility of them being saved, then maybe we can expect some members of the order to show up in the same spot to help Shin escape his predicament.
