Get ready for some western gunslinging action because Saiyuki Reload just released the first trailer for its upcoming Zeroin anime series. 

The official website of Kazuya Minekura’s Saiyuki Reload – Zeroin anime series released a trailer featuring the additional cast members on Sunday (August 29). Additionally, the anime series will premiere in January 2022.

The trailer starts with Hazel Grouse as he uses his magical amulet to revive a dead person, leaving our band of heroes Sanzo, Goku, Gojyo, and Hakkai in awe. Soon we get a glimpse of our rag-tag heroes traveling in their jeep, followed by a montage showcasing the vast world of Saiyuki.

The latter half of the trailer reveals two new additional characters, namely Gat and Ni Jianyi, both of whom play a significant role along with Hazel in the upcoming anime series. Jam-packed with both magic and western gunslinging, the trailer is sure to leave you wanting more. 

Saiyuki Reload – Zeroin will adapt the second last arc of the manga titled “Even a Worm.” The arc centers around the western priest Hazel Grouse as he conspires against the band of mythical heroes on their journey to the west.

Saiyuki is a manga series created by Kazuya Minekura, and it is loosely based on the 16th-century Chinese novel “Journey to the West.” It has received four anime adaptations and several spinoff mangas.

The plot revolves around the four heroes, Son Goku, GenjyoSanzo, Sha Gojyo, and Cho Hakkai. They travel to India to stop the resurrection of an ox-demon-king called Gyumaoh.

On their way, they meet plenty of assassins and face the consequences of their own past as well.
