Ruthless To Return With Second Half Of S1 In November

The second half of the first season of Tyler Perry’s Ruthless is coming back on BET+ this November. The drama series premiered in March 2020 and aired twelve episodes before it went on a hiatus in June. The first three episodes of the remaining twelve will be released on the premiere date and the rest will come out every following Thursday.

Ruthless is a spin-off of another series produced by Tyler Perry, called The Oval. The story of Ruthless began in a backdoor pilot episode of The Oval. While the former began as a spin-off, the stories of both the shows could not be more different.

The first episode of Ruthless begins with Ruth Truesdale kidnapping her daughter to prove her mettle to the Rakudushis, a cult of which she is a devout follower. As a token of appreciation for her devotion, it is decided that Ruth will be made into an Elder of the group.

However, in order to be initiated as an Elder, she has to be gang-raped by other superior members. The initiation shakes Ruth and her opinions about the cult changes. She slowly becomes determined to leave the group with her mutinous best friend, Tally.

Ruthless stars Melissa L. Williams, Matt Cedeño, Lenny D. Thomas, Yvonne Senat Jones and others. The second half of the season will add some new faces to the cast. Stevie Baggs, Jr., Colin McCalla, Samantha L. Thomas, Michelle Nunez, Alise Willis, and Jael Pettigrew will join the show in a terrifying end to the first season where more members discover the depravity of Rakudushis and threaten to leave the cult.
