In the original game show, contestants are set loose in theme parks, malls, shopping centers, and more, where they have to survive and earn cash. The catch here is that they are chased by ‘hunters’ who pursue and tag them, and if the hunter catches a contestant, they’re eliminated.
Based on this, the teaser features a chase sequence between a contestant and three hunters in an area that looks like Shibuya. The site seems to have been created as a virtual reality and is not a real place.
However, there’s a major twist when it comes to the plot. It is set in the future when humans have migrated to the Moon because of Earth’s deadly climate change.
The story incorporates elements such as the drama of survival, venues based on Japan’s Edo period, London, and more. Since humanity is on the Moon, the areas blur the borders and provide a complex playground for the game.
