About two weeks ago, CD Projekt announced that Cyberpunk 2077 had to be delayed once more from the previous release date of November 10th to December 10th.
But, certain rumors have started to surface on Twitter, which stated that the game might get delayed all the way to 2021.
“Since Cyberpunk 2077 evolved towards almost being a next-gen title somewhere along the way, we need to make sure everything works well and every version runs smoothly. We’re aware it might seem unrealistic when someone says that 21 days can make any difference in such a massive and complex game, but they really do.”

But, now that rumors about another significant delay are beginning to spread like wildfire, CD Projekt had to take immediate action.
CD Projekt immediately shut down these rumors, as a representative informed that “As a rule, we don’t comment on rumors or speculation. But I will confirm we were just taking time to update all of our assets to reflect the new launch date of December 10th.”
The rumor seems to have been sparked by the following Twitter handle:
There isn’t really any basis to the tweet, but people believing this are honestly justified, seeing as how they also correctly predicted the cancellation of E3 almost a week before it happened.
They also made a close prediction of the Nintendo Direct Event. Not entirely on the mark, that one, but accurate enough to earn the source some legitimacy.
However, if you still find yourself doubting and pondering upon whether Cyberpunk will be released on the set date or not, remove the doubts from your head, as CD Projekt doubled down on the release date and stated that December 10th is the day when Cyberpunk 2077 will hit the shelves.
But then again, CD Projekt said the same for the November 10th release date. I suppose many of us won’t be satisfied until the game actually releases.
Not to mention, the ones that spread the rumors don’t seem satisfied with the reaffirmation either.
Anyhow, all we can do is hope that Cyberpunk’s wait does not get any more grueling than it already is, and the game successfully launches on the set release date!

About Cyberpunk 2077
Cyberpunk 2077 is a 2020 action role-playing video game developed by CD Projekt Red and published by CD Projekt, based on video game designer Mike Pondsmith’s game series.
Set in a dystopian cyberpunk universe, the player assumes the role of “V,” a mercenary in the fictional Californian city known as “Night City,” where they deal with the fallout from a heist gone wrong that results in an experimental cybernetic “bio-chip” containing an engram of the legendary rock star and terrorist Johnny Silverhand (played by Keanu Reeves) threatening to slowly overwrite V’s mind; as the story progresses V and Johnny must work together to find a way to be separated and save V’s life.
