In last week’s episode, Percival comes up with a new scheme to play mind games with the Riverdale gang. He visits each of their houses and asks for a library book that they borrowed when they were younger. When they’re unable to locate the book, he takes precious objects from them as collateral. Using these objects, he makes the gang relive their past traumas. Reggie decides to join forces with Percival.

Riverdale Season 6 Episode 14 Speculation
Jughead manages to track down the books and the gang goes to Percival’s shop to get their precious objects back. Everyone gets their items back except for Veronica, who declares that no one has power over her and tells Percival to keep her father’s portrait. In order to cleanse the objects, Cheryl performs a ritual that would require her to burn them, causing Jughead to back out as his grandfather’s book was far too precious for him to lose, even if it was cursed.

Riverdale Season 6 Episode 13 Recap
The episode starts with Betty and Archie discussing the results of the pregnancy test. While Betty is relieved that the test came out negative, Archie admits that a baby might’ve been a source of hope for him. Meanwhile, Reggie and Veronica are bickering again and he taunts Veronica by saying she doesn’t know how to be alone.
Percival shows up at Jughead’s house and tells him he’s decided to close down the public library as the town’s newly appointed mayor and that he has an overdue book of a rare edition that he must find and return or replace. He takes the book inscribed by Jughead’s grandfather as collateral. He similarly takes precious objects from the rest of the gang as collateral for overdue library books. Jughead calls a group meeting when he realizes that Percival paid everyone a visit.
Later that night, Percival performs a ritual with all the precious objects he took from the gang. The next morning, Archie and the rest of the group are terrorized by ghosts from their past. Betty smells bleach while she’s at work and immediately feels nauseous. She visits Percival and demands to read her diary and tells Archie that she saw her father using bleach to clean his victims’ blood out of their family car around the same time as she was reading the book that Percival was after. The memory prompts her to broaden the search for TBK to men with families, specifically daughters.
