Lawyer Takes Manga Industry by Storm in Yuji Tamkemura’s New Series

Ever wondered what would happen if a lawyer decided to quit his job and become a mangaka? What kind of story would that be? Find that out in Yuji Takemura’s new manga where a lawyer uses his ink pen to bring criminals in the manga industry to justice.

Yuji Takemura is one of the few mangaka who still has the 80s manga aesthetic in his drawings. His drawings may be reminiscent of the past, but he has decided to launch his new manga online.

Mangaka Yuji Takemura’s new manga titled Bengoshi Aran Rikunori wa Mangaka ni Naritai (Rikunori Aran, Attorney at Law, Wants to Be a Manga Creator) will start its serialization in Shogakukan’s Manga ONE App from 13th August 2021. 

The visual introduces Rikunori Aran, the main character of the story, who is holding an ink pen, seemingly drawing a manga while wearing a suit befitting for a lawyer. 

This unusual story follows him on his journey to become the manga king. For now, he must struggle as a rookie manga assistant while taking on his adversaries in court. 

Takemura has stated that he was very excited to collaborate with Hiro Yuuki on this series. Yuuki is a lawyer who is writing the story for the series.

Although we have had stories like Bakuman and A Zoo in Winter before, this is certainly a new take on stories about mangaka. With a real-life lawyer involved, we know the story will be legally accurate too.
