Episode 2 of Rent-A-Girlfriend season 2 is titled ‘The Usual Girlfriend’ in which Kazuya begins hiring Chizuru more frequently in order to help her finance her acting career.
The two end up spending a lot of time together after their date, though to his surprise, Chizuru stays with him even while they head back.
In the course of meeting Chizuru’s grandmother later that night, her grandmother asks for a favor from Kazuya.

Episode 3 Speculation
The conversation Kazuya had with Chizuru’s grandmother may influence Kazuya to continue hiring her.
Kazuya is known for his love for Chizuru, and in the previous episode, we were able to see Chizuru showing a slight interest as well. The fact that they are still going the same way indicates that they might start dating for real if things continue to go as planned.
She even took him to indoor baseball, which was quite surprising, but she later clarified that it wasn’t a date. She may have a soft spot for Kazuya but is too stubborn to accept it.

Episode 2 Recap
Kazuya has returned to college after spring break. He hasn’t taken his career seriously so far and has refrained from speaking too much about it to his friends, unlike others who have already started planning their futures.
He asked his manager later that day how to date a girl out of his league at work. Having been married to a flight attendant, Kazuya thinks he might have some good advice.
He is not given any false hope by his manager, who says that he should prepare himself for an uphill battle if he has fallen in love. The only way to achieve success is to be passionate about what he does. Kazuya goes on a date with Chizuru after he is finished with work. The two dine at a restaurant.
Chizuru tries to convince Kazuya that he shouldn’t hire her weekly as a rental girlfriend as he is about to pay. She seems guilty about Kazuya spending so much of his money on her.
Moreover, she argues that it is unfair to her other loyal customers because it is unhealthy for them both. Kazuya is also reminded of Mami’s advice to stop seeing Chizuru. In addition to all of these reasons, she adds that they will even harm Ruka if they continue meeting this way.
Chizuru, however, does not know Kazuya has already requested her permission. They argued over it, and Ruka became upset. However, Kazuya countered that he was doing it so that he could financially support Chizuru’s dreams.
His request is accepted only if he agrees to take Ruka to Chizuru’s next performance so that everyone knows they are dating. As they part ways and Kazuya prepares to return home, he tells himself that he should not expect too much from these pretentious dates as they are unlikely to form a romantic relationship soon.
However, Chizuru turns around and asks him to play indoor baseball with her. He is shocked when Kazuya sees that she can hit the ball well. As a result, Chizuru clarifies that it is not a date, as she only wants to take him somewhere afterward. As a stress reliever, she also plays baseball there often.
Chizuru usually does not have anyone accompanying her, so that it can be lonely sometimes. She seems glad to have Kazuya with him, even though she doesn’t say so. Chizuru reveals to Kazuya that she wants him to meet her grandmother again after playing enough.
Grandmother Sayuri is delighted to see Kazuya and Chizuru in her room. As soon as she sees Kazuya, she hugs him and asks him about his work and college. To keep Chizuru’s grandmother happy, the two pretend to be dating each other.
In contrast, when Chizuru goes out to work, grandmother Sayuri asks Kazuya if she can ask him for a favor. Kazuya is worried for a moment that she knows they aren’t together. Her first question, however, is about her performance in the play.

She always had trouble with the older kids in the neighborhood, and she would cry because of them. Her grandmother claims that Chizuru is still the same deep down, even though she has learned to hide her emotions.
She needs to talk about her deep-seated fears and feelings with someone. As a result, Kazuya is asked to protect Chizuru from harm and be a rock for her.
Unsure about their future, Kazuya confesses that he loves Chizuru, as he does not want to give her false hope. As a result of his words, grandmother Sayuri felt more confident. In the evening, Chizuru reveals she lost her key when she and Kazuya arrive at their apartments.
