Red Dead Redemption fans are skeptical about pre-ordering the remaster

Rockstar Games does not have a track record worth bragging about regarding remakes. This is mainly because of the sub-par remake of Grand Theft Auto titles.

The Grand Theft Auto Trilogy remaster, even though not handled by Rockstar Games but by Grove Street Games, was a disaster. Fans were disappointed at Rockstar Games allowing the remaster to be published.

Refunds were issued, and Rockstar Games was quick to comply and apologize. However, gamers have a long memory, especially when making a horrendous mess of their beloved Grand Theft Auto titles.

Fans of the Red Dead Redemption series are now citing the Grand Theft Auto Trilogy remaster mishap as a reason not to pre-order the Red Dead Redemption 1 Remaster, which is hotly anticipated and is expected to be announced and released soon.

The debate sparked off on Reddit after @TezFunz2 reported on Twitter that Rockstar Games had updated their site and added a new reference within the games list.

Under the post on Reddit, most fans were quick to express their enthusiasm that they would pre-order Red Dead Redemption 1 Remaster as soon as it goes live.

The fans who were around when Grove Street Games massacred the Grand Theft Trilogy Remaster were skeptical about pre-ordering the Red Dead Redemption 1 Remaster.

Another reason cited was that Rockstar had abandoned Red Dead Redemption 2 right after release and invested all resources and human resources into Grand Theft Auto VI and other new titles. This is why it would not be a surprise to see the remaster being outsourced.

Rockstar has also included Red Dead Redemption 1 Remaster in the rating list of the modern site modules. The original site did not use these modules. This indicates a site update with PlayStation 3, Xbox 360, and Switch have been added as platform buttons.

Most fans fear believing in anything until a Red Dead Remaster trailer drops. Regardless of how good the title turns out to be, the consensus is to be careful with the pre-orders for the remaster.

About Red Dead Redemption 1 Remake

Red Dead Redemption 1 Remaster is a reworked version of the 2010 action-adventure game developed by Rockstar San Diego and published by Rockstar Games. A successor to 2004’s Red Dead Revolver, it is the second game in the Red Dead series. Red Dead Redemption is set during the decline of the American frontier in the year 1911 and follows John Marston, a former outlaw whose wife and son are taken hostage by the government in ransom for his services as a hired gun. Having no other choice, Marston sets out to bring three members of his former gang to justice.
