Barem gets up from the bullet wounds, and Nayuta gets angry. Nayuta shoots a chain at Barem’s skull, commanding him to kill himself.

However, Barem gets up and walks towards Nayuta. Barem grabs Nayuta in a chokehold, telling Denji that he’ll kill her if Denji moves. Nayuta can’t take control of Barem because his body is still under Makima’s control. Barem says if Makima were alive, she would take control of Chainsaw Man and save the world from the Death Devil.

Barem longed for a peaceful, controlled world under the rule of Makima. However, Chainsaw Man destroyed that promise and enjoyed the peace that Public Safety provided instead. Barem says the flames that burned his house are the divine punishment. Nayuta controls one of the fallen officials, making them shoot Barem and save her.

Nayuta screams out to Denji while everybody watches in anticipation. Even random strangers peek out of their houses to see the commotion. As the flames of his dead pets burn behind him, Denji tugs on his starter. Pochita smiles at Denji, wanting him to reach his dreams. Denji laughs insanely while he slowly turns back into Chainsaw Man.
