They meet Nobana Higashima, who is to act as Denji’s guide. The whole church is filled with students. Nobana tells Denji that the church is run by a student body and there are no adults.

Nobana tells him that adults’ mental faculties have diminished because of an American ultraviolet ray weapon in Japan’s air. Denji doesn’t believe it, but Nobana tells him that both America and adults are dangerous.

Denji sees something strange. It is the Chainsaw Man Wedding Chapel. Nobana reveals that Denji will get to have sex in the room next to the chapel, and then he will marry that girl at the chapel.

Denji doesn’t like the sound of that. Nobana tells him that they encourage student marriage in the church. They are doing this because marrying as an adult is a concept made by Americans to control the Japanese as slaves.

Chainsaw Man brings this student marriage system. Denji blames Sugo for all this load of crap and tells him not to impose such nonsense on people. The two end up having a big argument.

Nobana calms them down and moves ahead, but before he can move ahead, someone shows up, telling Nobana to return to his duties. The boy introduces himself as Barem.

He does a weird greeting (poking his fingers up Denji’s nose). He wonders why Chainsaw Man hasn’t been killing devils lately. He asks Denji what will bring back Chainsaw Man.

He proposes the idea of tearing up Tokyo with a devil attack. Denji says that it won’t be a problem as there is Asa now. Barem says that maybe killing Asa will bring Chainsaw Man back. 

Barem starts manipulating Denji into killing Asa. Denji pushes him away, saying he is out of the place, and leaves. Barem tells Denji to enjoy his normal life as long as he can.

Chainsaw Man is a manga series by Tatsuki Fujimoto that was serialized from December 2018-2020 and returned in July 2022 with a second part. The series also received an anime series by MAPPA.

The manga’s plot revolves around Denji, an orphaned boy who has to work as a devil hunter to make a living and pay off his father’s debt.
