The latest episode shows Subaru recovering from one of the most devastating loops in the entire series, and he seeks a conversation with the Witch of Greed. Subaru enters the Tomb, hoping to find a tea party but ends up facing the second trial. This ordeal makes him face the unthinkable present he is facing.
We also witness a discussion about the possibility of parallel worlds in this episode. Subaru fails the second trial and wakes up to see Rem standing before him, but as it later turns out, Carmilla is sent by Echidna to bring Subaru back to reality.
Later, Echidna offers Subaru a contract with her to experience his “Return By Death” ability through his eyes. The seven witches all appear in one place and Satella’s appearance towards the end of the episode!

The preview for Episode 38 was not shown, nor the title revealed at the end of episode 37.
However, based on the ending of the current episode, we know that all seven witches are in one place. Echidna and Satella are both fighting for Subaru, which could lead to an epic battle between them!
3. Recap Of Episode 37
I. The Second Trial
The episode begins with Subaru still reeling from a traumatic loop. He goes to the Tomb to have a conversation with Echidna but ends up going through the second trial. The first trial made him relive his past, while the second trial is making him face his unthinkable present, which is more chaotic and painful for Subaru because of the numerous loops that he has lived and died through.
The second trial seems to be too much for Subaru as he fails to pass it. When he wakes up, he thinks that Rem is standing before him, but unfortunately, it was Carmilla sent by Echidna to bring him back to reality before he goes insane.
II. Echidna’s Offer
Subaru meets with Echidna, who tells him that she has an offer for him. She wants him to make a contract with her to experience his “Return By Death” ability through his eyes. Echidna remarks that having Subaru’s ability at her disposal would be perfect for a person like her who seeks infinite knowledge.
Just as Subaru is about to agree to Echidna’s offer, Minerva appears on the scene and is furious when she learns that Donna is trying to manipulate Subaru. We are also introduced to Sekhmet, the Witch of Sloths, who appears to be so exhausted that she cannot even stand up.
After this point in the episode, Subaru learns many shocking truths about Echidna, the cruelest one being how she treated Beatrice. He realized that she has lied to Beatrice, and no person was coming to grant her wish at the library. She also reveals that Beatrice’s contract was for the sole purpose of Echidna’s amusement and nothing more.
Enraged by this, Subaru decides that he would form a contract with Beatrice. Suddenly, Satella appears out of thin air, and now all seven witches were gathered in one place.
