Here are the latest updates.

Episode 10 Speculations

Kazuya was trying to buy racoon-lady Sandra off Ginger, but he didn’t sell her. Kazuya told him it was a test, but I doubt that. He’s always out “collecting” cute women.

Ginger was adamant about not letting Sandra go, and they even hugged in the end. (How cute.) Fans would like to see more of those too, and since they’ll be working closely with the state, we might even see them get married.

The weird thing was how they handled a sensitive topic such as slavery. It was borderline disgusting to see an anime make excuses for keeping the institution alive. Many fans found it very off-putting.

When discussed, it is revealed that there is a shortage of citizens who can read and write. The ones who can read, write, and do basic mathematics belong to the nobility or the merchant class.

A young boy named Ginger Camus becomes the master of a slave trade business after his grandfather dies. When he comes into the slaves’ quarters to greet them, they all look morose.

Ginger chats up a pretty raccoon-woman named Sandra and asks her why they were so sad. She said they were mourning his grandfather’s death. Even though they were enslaved people, he treated them well.

Now they were unsure of what would happen with a new master. They could be sold, their families split, and their new masters could be evil.

Ginger said he couldn’t slave trade, so he would be selling them to start his new business, but assured them that families wouldn’t be split up and they’ll get good masters to work for.

He gives them clean clothes and teaches them to read and write. No slave trader wants to buy them anymore, so Ginger is stacking up losses by the minute. The next day, knights and noblemen break their doors down to buy educated slaves.

The King has decreed that noblemen would be evaluated on how well they govern their territory, and to do that, they would require educated workers. Ginger sells all of them off, except for Sandra.

Kazuya is impressed with his work and tells him he wishes to socialize slavery because he can’t abolish it. Ginger will function as the head of those operations.
