At first glance, Princess Principal would just look like another predictable spy-themed anime, but it is so much more than that. Set in the exciting era of 20th century Britain, this anime brings you the story of five girls who are professional spies.
The first installment of this six-part film series uncovered many secrets about the protagonists leading them into all sorts of trouble. Although they made it out of those dangerous situations, the girls were left with an ominous warning that their job would one day be the cause of their demise. Even after this, the girls did not stop and would do anything to reach their goals.
The first part gathered a lot of fame, and now the fans cannot wait for the next one. Knowing our excitement, the franchise decided to tease us all a bit.
Princess Principal: Crown Handler previewed the first 10 minutes of the series’ second film. The film recently premiered in Japan on September 23, and after this preview, we cannot wait for the international release.
The video was super thrilling and made us increasingly curious about what was going to happen next. The preview shows two significant incidents that set the plot of the film.
First, a new superweapon called ‘Caberlight Bomb’ capable of wide-scale destruction was mysteriously stolen and brought to the Kingdom land. The bomb had enough firepower to destroy an entire battleship, and three of its units were stolen.
The second incident that happens is directly related to the royal family. Prince Richard, who is the third in line in succession for the throne, comes back to the Kingdom. His return is celebrated among the crowd with a lot of energy and a parade.
Right when the prince is greeting the public, he is shot by a man, which causes mayhem on the streets. As the prince starts bleeding and falls unconscious due to the impact of the shot, the news reaches the queen, distressing everyone.
Our protagonists are now tasked with finding out the culprit behind both of these incidents and bringing them forth. Although we all know Ange and her friends will be successful, I’m worried about the life-threatening challenges that lie ahead.
Even though these look like two completely independent incidents, what would happen if they turned out to have some connection?
I mean, what if the same person made Richard’s assassination attempt and the bomb theft? What if the assassination was just a set-up?
There is more to all of this, and I cannot wait to find it out.

Princess Principal is a Japanese anime television series produced by Studio 3Hz and Actas.
The series was directed by Masaki Tachibana and written by Ichirō Ōkouchi, with original character designs by Kouhaku Kuroboshi and Yukie Akiya, and music by Yuki Kajiura. The series aired from July to September 2017.
A six parted film series has been planned by Actas with Film 1 being released in February 11, 2021. Film 2 is slated for a Fall 2021 release.
Set in the 19th century, the film revolves around Ange, Dorothy & Chise. Princess Principal Crown Handler Part 1 takes place after the events of the canon story released in 2017.
The Empire takes drastic measures against spies and finds the commonwealth group in charge of spy missions against the Empire — Control to be in disarray, suspecting its members to be double agents.
