The car ride there is ominously quiet except for Scrappy’s enthusiasm about being in charge of the new spot. However, when they arrive at the building, Raq shoots him in the head. Power Book III: Raising Kanan Season 2 Episode 2 Recap
The episode opens with Detective Howard speaking to Raq for the first time after he was shot.
He claims to want to make the best of his second chance at life. Howard reveals that he knew that Kanan shot him. He doesn’t intend to press charges and actually wants to build a relationship with his son.
This also implies that he was lying about having memory loss to the other cops. He threatens Raq that if she doesn’t tell Kanan the truth, he will. Additionally, he also tells Raq that the Thomas crime ring has a snitch in it and that he’d seen Scrappy at the police precinct. Raq then tells Marvin to dig deeper into Scrappy’s whereabouts.
Meanwhile, Kanan agrees to help Famous sell his mixtapes so he can gather funds to rent a room after his mother kicked him out. The two of them have an unfortunate run-in with cops, who then throw all the mixtapes on the curb before releasing them. Kanan manages to maintain his composure despite his initial instinct to react more aggressively.
