“I got the idea that Übel Blatt would be made into an anime a little after the series had finished, so I thought, ‘Now?” was my honest impression of surprise. I can’t imagine the Keinzels (Köinzel) moving and having voices, and while I’m looking forward it it, it’s still a strange feeling that doesn’t feel real.”

In addition to this comment, the author has urged the audience to anticipate the upcoming anime adaptation of the manga. Furthermore, Shiono-san has released a sequel manga titled “Übel Blatt II: The Knights of the Deceased King” in the March issue of Monthly Big Gangan.

The manga has garnered mixed reactions from both its readers and critics. Some have praised it for its action-packed scenes, intricate character development, and sweeping plot, while others have criticized it for its unoriginality, uneven pacing, and overpowered protagonist.

At this point, the anime’s quality remains uncertain, as it’s up to Pony Canyon to determine how faithful it will be to the manga. However, we cannot make any judgments about the anime’s overall quality until a teaser video is released, which we anticipate will happen soon.

About Übel Blatt

‘Übel Blatt’ is a Japanese manga series written and illustrated by Etorouji Shiono. It was serialized in the semi-monthly seinen manga magazine Young Gangan from December 2004 to 2009, when it was transferred to Monthly Big Gangan, where it continued until its end in March 2019. An anime television series adaptation has been announced.

The story of Übel Blatt takes place in a medieval, fantasy-like landscape. It follows the steps of Koinzell, who appears to be nothing more than a mere half-human child most distinguishable for the scar over his left eye. He is on a quest for revenge against those who betrayed and killed him and now call themselves the seven heroes of the land.
