Polygon’s Four-Part-Short-Anime Features ‘The Sleeping Pokemon, Snorlax’

Snorlax, one of the cutest creatures in the Pokemon universe, is loved by many fans. This adorable, large, and rotund Pokemon is known for its insatiable appetite and tendency to sleep a lot.

In recognition of Snorlax’s popularity, The Pokemon Company launched the Kabigon Project, which aims to support the “Sleeping Pokemon” through various activities. One of the activities included in the project is a four-part short-form anime series.

Japanese 3D animation studio Polygon Pictures has produced a short series starring Snorlax and Cubone from Pokémon.

Beginning on December 8, Project Kabigon began streaming the four-part series, which later concluded on Friday, December 29, 2023.

The video opens with Cubone tearfully mourning over his mother under a glowing full moon. He then discovers that the fungi around him all light up, gradually leading him into the forest to find Snorlax as he joyfully gobbles up all the luminescent mushrooms.

Throughout four episodes, the short animated series tells a heartwarming friendship through wholesome interactions between the laidback Snorlax and the seemingly prickly Cubone over the changing season.

This short-animated series will surely immerse you with its cuteness and great visuals. It is something a true Pokemon fan cannot unsee.
